They can have their coach of the year, along with their all conference & all met players. And they can watch the girls championship from the stands before they cheer on the SJC boys.

HS lax is a stepping stone for those wanting to play in college. Looks like St. John’s is helping their girls do that. Believe they have girls heading to Harvard, Yale, and Penn. Not too bad for some girls in the stands.

And those girls were going to those schools prior to the COTY being there she can’t take credit for that….

How’s that? SJC coach arrived just before the spring 2020 season. SJC’s 2023 graduates heading to Harvard, NW and Gettysburg didn’t commit for another year and a half (fall 2021). Rising seniors heading to Harvard, Yale and Penn didn’t arrive at SJC until coach’s second year on the job (and didn’t commit to those programs until fall of 2022).

You did miss the point: SJC’s commits had a great time watching PVI get smoked in the WCAC finals. They knew they had already won the life lottery. It’s a pretty cool feeling when you know your best days are still ahead of you, not behind you.

I don’t think the commits had a great time watching PVI get smoked in the finals. The outgoing commits along with the current commits we’re figuring out how to get the COTY out of the building.

Your post said the players were heading to “those schools” (meaning those to which they are committed) before the COTY arrived, which is incorrect.

Which means the coach had nothing to do with getting them to St. John’s

I believe “those” girls were recruited by the field hockey coach.

Sounds like a statistic only a coach would know!

Don’t be on here coach. This forum is primarily for parents with unrealistic expectations and time on their hands 😂

Not a coach. Those stats were in the Washington Post write up of his COY All Met award. Google it. I’m someone who supports fairness. So far no one has offered a valid reason why the WCAC COY went the way it did. Posters have addressed how players are nominated and awarded. Anyone know the WCAC COY process?

Voted on at the same time as the player awards.

SJC had a good victory early in the season against PVI before PVI hit their grove. They also beat Visi late in the year when Visi was in a tough stretch. Other than that, no real big victories and several close loses to good teams. Hard to figure how you give the COY award to SJC over PVI.
