The Constitution is meant to define the limits of governmental power. The interesting thing is, liberals have been fond, for decades, of using the Commerce Clause in the Constitution as their basis for expanding the power of the federal government. It will be pretty ironic if a Republican Congress uses the Commerce Clause as their basis for outlawing abortion for the entire country (assuming the court strikes down Roe). Before the push by early 20th Century progressives like FDR to expand the scope of the Commerce Clause, no legal scholar would have believed that Congress had the power to either ban abortion or legalize it for the country as a whole.

Sure treason like on Jan 6th? That is treason. This decision will be released before the midterms so the leak is no big deal. It’s just the new way the court will work. Conservatives do not like status quo.

There is no "right" to an abortion. That is what this entire decision is about It was wrong from the beginning.


I have a Constitutional right to the pursuit of happiness and not having a child, for whatever reason, is me pursuing happiness.


What's crazy is that abortion should be a pretty cut and dry reading of section 1 of the 14th Amendment. With this decision, a state could ban vasectomy or heart transplants. It can ban interracial marriage, gay marriage, or straight marriage.


No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.


The sheer chaos that this decision will unleash on the United States will be unprecedented. Any equal protection rulings are pretty much moot.

Yep. That’s why I linked to that Michael Beschloss tweet. Things are going to become needlessly, cruelly stupid. All because Republicans hate America, hate women and want a theocracy.
