Does it remind anyone else of that doll in the 80s where you could rotate the top of her head to switch her hair from blonde to dark brown?

Just me? Ok.

Where most people have self-awareness these influencer types have a black hole.

I hadn’t heard of them, but found an old Washington post article about their family - explaining how they went full woke.
Their beliefs “evolved”.
If this is the result of your evolution… yikes.

Can you imagine being the sort of person to co-write a book with your wife on “biblical marriage” while at the same time living a decade plus long double life as a sex creep and probable groomer?

Yep, no cognitive dissonance whatsoever.

These people are all crazy.

I’m also sad to hear about Aaron Ivey. Cue the, “Aaron will be going to some type of “treatment” center” post and Jamie will probably stick by him. I feel more sad for her and their kids because they’ve apparently been living a lie this entire time. Also one more reason to not buy into these spiritual influencers.

I feel the worst for their kids. One is a senior in high school. Now everyone knows his dad was grooming kids their own age. Pray for them. This is way too much for some kids to handle. He’s a total asshole to blow up their lives this way.

Wow. The “Christian” influencer social climber class of 2012 has been revealed to be pretty rotten and corrupt, that’s for sure!

I think that the same narcissistic impulse that drove these people to pursue recognition, fame, success, and “relevance” was the same narcissistic impulse that drives any other grasping social climber type. The “Gospel” was just what they grew up with and knew. It was the easiest thing they could use to elevate themselves, which was their true mission all along.

I see all these books and podcasts now and throw up a little in my mouth.

They need to all go away. Just gross.

Ivey's predatory behavior goes back to at least 2011 and involves an underage child.

Being any kind of “influencer” 🤮 requires a certain level of narcissism and unlimited self promotion which is the exact opposite characteristic of a Christ follower, so, finding one that is not a phony is gonna be a tall order.

And, PSA - don’t write a marriage book when you’re young and been married like 15 years. Please. It’s like writing a parenting how-to when you still have kids at home. Again, considering oneself an expert at a young age requires a certain level of pride and narcissisim. Not to mention jinxing yourself!!

You know Jen is having a laugh about this. The Hatmakers and Iveys used to be close (adopted internationally around the same time, Jen was one of the first guests on Jamie's podcast) and then they split--never said why but it coincided with Jen coming out as LGBTQ positive. Hard to imagine Jen isn't having a little schadenfreude over this.

This sucks. Austin Stone is a good, biblical church. I respect the way they are handling this.

Well damn.
