This works but I wouldnt include the higher grade to make things more simple and stop the holdbacks from trying to get involved. The date obviously addresses the holdback issue.

It's just what Skye Eddy estimated back in the day. All misaligned kids. She said it was an average of about 1 per team.
That article was guestimating based on the authors personal experience. More competitive areas and levels will have less. Less competitive areas and levels will have more.
The larger significance is that a sizable number of misaligned players in fact existed. Some only have memories of what a past they never truly existed. (She did say many younger Aug-Sept did play up -- but it's hard to get into the nuance with a troll).
At the highest levels Aug birthdays played up. You never heard of players playing down. This was always done to facilitate college recruiting.

No, it's not obvious, because leaving that grade out causes confusion also.

Yeah, that's why this one works. Imagine flashing a made up wrong table to a coach and telling them what age group you want? Or saying that kid doesn't belong on my kids team because he doesn't fit on my made up table?Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:This is for next fall when SY starts.

Such a hypocrite.
But what if that's what college coaches want, right? Everyone to play with their grade, so they can compare classes. Who's the hypocrite now?
SY with Aug birthdays playing on the team thats their grade in school = all players on the field during games are the same grade. Which is exactly what college coaches want.
You say 10-15% but provide no proof of this statement. Then you contradict yourself by sayjng that grades are t collected. So how would you know?
We know at least 5% based on reporting about last time. Likely more now with how wide-ranging people class their kids.
You are highly exaggerating the number os schools that start before 8/1
It's just what Skye Eddy estimated back in the day. All misaligned kids. She said it was an average of about 1 per team.
That article was guestimating based on the authors personal experience. More competitive areas and levels will have less. Less competitive areas and levels will have more.

7v7 = U9 = 8/1/2017 + younger = 4th grade/3rd grade/2nd grade
7v7 = U8 = 8/1/2018 + younger = 3rd grade/2nd grade/1st grade
4v4 = U7 = 8/1/2019 + younger = 2nd/grade/1st grade/kindergarten
4v4 = U6 = 8/1/2020 + younger = 1st grade/kindergarten/Pre-school
This doesnt work because of the 8/1 date cutoff.
Not if you read it left to right ... You start with the date which then includes mostly those grades. Yes, a hard equals doesn't work. It could use a different symbol. Good feedback
11v11 = U18/U19 = 8/1/2007 + younger (Senior/Junior)
11v11 = U17 = 8/1/2009 + younger (Senior/Junior/Sophomore)
11v11 = U16 = 8/1/2010 + younger (Junior/Sophomore/Freshman)
11v11 = U15 = 8/1/2011 + younger (Sophomore/Freshman/8th grade)
11v11 = U14 = 8/1/2012 + younger (Freshman/8th grade/7th grade)
11v11 = U13 = 8/1/2013 + younger (8th grade/7th grade/6th grade)
11v11 = U12 = 8/1/2014 + younger (7th grade/6th grade/5th grade)
9v9 = U11 = 8/1/2015 + younger (6th grade/5th grade/4th grade)
9v9 = U10 = 8/1/2016 + younger (5th grade/4th grade/3rd grade)
7v7 = U9 = 8/1/2017 + younger (4th grade/3rd grade/2nd grade)
7v7 = U8 = 8/1/2018 + younger (3rd grade/2nd grade/1st grade)
4v4 = U7 = 8/1/2019 + younger (2nd/grade/1st grade/kindergarten)
4v4 = U6 = 8/1/2020 + younger (1st grade/kindergarten/Pre-school)
This works but I wouldnt include the higher grade to make things more simple and stop the holdbacks from trying to get involved. The date obviously addresses the holdback issue.

I'm not sure people will know what a comma means in this context.
