The teacher - student affair and their children?
Wait . . .
So a teacher had an affair with a student, and they had kids together????
Please tell me this is a rumor! ugh
Go pull the Circuit Court file. Ask Pat O'Neill about it. She has the "institutional knowledge" that everyone loves in Board of Education members. Covering up
teacher and student affairs and the resulting children is a Pat O'Neill core value.
Even if someone wanted to, how could you possibly go pull the court file based on the info provided? They don't index cases by teacher schtupping student.
Ask Pat O'Neill. Ask Damascus teachers. They all know. They all have the institutional knowledge you treasure.

Doesn’t Montgomery County have separate programs for adults?

And again, nothing from Smith. He needs to be fired too. Sick and tired of kids being abused at Damascus HS.
This is the second incident of a special needs student being photographed in the bathroom.
Adding emphasis to this. Culture needs to change now.
This is getting worse every day, so it seems. There is a culture issue here. What is the best way to change the culture of the entire school, and all the students?
Uh, teach your children that these things are unacceptable, unethical and immoral? This isn't something that should only be taught at school--if it's not taught at home and reinforced at home then things like these happen. Parenting fails.
Nah, it’s easier to just blame the school even though a moral compass should have been instilled at home from a much earlier age! Don’t you know that it’s up to schools to raise children now, not parents?
This 100% How is it possible that a kid who was raised by parents who taught him good values from a young age would think that raping another kid with a broomstick is okay? There's a reason why some kids grow up to be respectful and successful people and others turn out to be assholes. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Stop blaming the schools for everything!

Ugg. That might explain why there's two child predators on staff as coaches at Churchill.
One is also a teacher who texted students, gave students gifts, and had children alone in his car. Great staff development and training to prevent child abuse.

I don’t know much about the Churchill situation, but the staff development position has nothing to do with child abuse prevention training. That is all pushed out directly by the county to teachers. We complete it online. In my experience, staff development teachers do very little actual training of any kind. At my school they run the monthly staff meeting and then act as an assistant administrator most of the time except when they’re running testing. Not an excuse, just an explanation.

Children age 5 by September 1, 2018, and not age 21 on the first day of school are eligible for enrollment in MCPS. I don't have a problem with this. Why do you?
-former 15-year-old girl and current parent of a 15-year-old girl
I do have a problem with it. What is the benefit of keeping 20 year old men in classes with 15 year old girls? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have them in a program where they can be instructed at their level?
They aren’t in the same classes. You know that.
