Anyone find it odd he didn’t win COTY of PVI’s conference (WCAC) when he was voted COTY for all of DMV by both the Washington Post and USA Lacrosse?
I’m willing to bet the players had a lot to do with it. They have been called “the dad coaches” for a few years with good reason. I’ve seen quite a few games against them until my kid graduated.
Maybe. Why do the coaches of teams winning conferences, states, etc seem to always win COTY? What about coaches that get teams to play beyond their talent level or greatly improve from day one to conference play? For example, the acting HC for Potomac did a wonderful job.
Agree. This was the also case with PVI in WCAC per the PP. SJC had many D1 commits and expectations were high this year. Many DCUM posters said they underperformed. OTOH PVI punched above their weight and did something the program hadn’t done for nearly 20 years but the coach didn’t get the COY. Maybe another way to ask it: what was remarkable about SJC’s season that made the WCAC decide to sway the COY decision their way?

The coaches nominated players by position, talk about the player. Then the coaches vote.
