Youngkin has NEVER said that the Biden did not legitimately win the 2020 election. He has been asked this several times and not once did he ever say the election was ridged or false.
Trump has never campaigned with Youngkin. He has never been at any rally or event in Virginia for him. Ever. Sure there is some sort of telly rally (whatever that is) but that's it.
This is a state wide election. This is not a national or federal election. Virginians want people from the other 49 states to but out! STOP using us and our election as your prop or stage for whatever national or personal agenda you have. Stop trying to make dots connect that aren't even close. Most Virginians can't stand Trump. He didn't win in 2016 or 2020 there. Trump barely even campaigned in Virginia for 2020 because of it.
I cannot stand people with no real connection to Virginia (they aren't from here, work here, live here) barging in to take advantage of the political moment for their own personal or professional or political gain, taking advantage of the people who do live here, and then come Wednesday they're gone on to their next big thing and we are all still sitting here having to deal with whatever happens. Stay home.
Also no one pays any attention to Amanda Chase, she's a nut job.
Uh, this election is bigger than you idiot bumpkins in the inbred parts of the state. That’s why so many of us who don’t live in Virginia are so concerned about it and are sending as much money as we can to TM. Because in order to protect Progressivism anywhere, we have to protect it everywhere. This isn’t just about you, you ignorant hillbilly.
We DON'T WANT progressivism. Look at what it's done to NYC and DC. Go protect progressivism in your own state. -Hillibilly from Arlington.

Not only all of that, but earlier this week Youngkin was on a rightwing radio talk show hosted by a well-known racist, and he said - and I quote “I hope that Virginians will walk with the spirit of Jefferson, and Madison, and Washington”.
What does THAT tell you???
Those three white men all owned HUNDREDS of enslaved Africans. And he wants Virginians to “walk in their spirit”???
To me that’s a very, very clear statement about his views about POC, and his unstated plans for rolling back all civil rights protections that POC enjoy in Virginia today. We’re not just talking separate lunch counters and water fountains here - he literally believes in slavery. You think he isn’t saying a loud and clear message to the worst people in Virginia, that he has their back.
I cannot believe that this statement he made on this radio show didn’t get more coverage in the press. They just flat ignored it. I’m dumbfounded.

I'm a true moderate, so I don't like where the country and the east coast (not Va. specifically - have only lived here for 5 yrs) have gone under progressive Democrats. I know McA isn't a progressive like the folks I left behind in NYC. But my worry with Dems now is always that they run as moderate and once they're in office they turn progressive. Was only here for 1 year of McA"s earlier term and thought he was a good governor and I am wowed by Virginia's economy/economic growth and it's a big part of why I want to stay here.
Youngkin while he may have some extreme ideas probably provides the check that a state needs before it turns TOO Democratic. Even minor things - if the homeless problem grows in NoVA, I feel like a Republican will have no problem removing tent cities - and honestly it's not PC but I pay good money to live where I live, I don't want it to look like parts of DC,NYC etc. I generally think Rep. are more law and order. Yet I'm also not into MAGA - esp as a non white person. Wish there was a "guarantee" that McA doesn't take the state progressive or that Youngkin doesn't take it MAGA.
I think you area pretty wrong on the facts:
1) Dems usually run on MORE progressive platforms than they actually enact. Look at Bill Clinton, Obama etc. They talked a much bigger talk than what they did. You already saw that Terry is a moderate dem - and based on his age - you can feel confident he’s not changed much.
2) Republicans are not ‘law and order’. They are themselves quite criminal - it’s why many people in Trump’s orbit have landed themselves in prison (still or, at least until they were pardoned). I promise you that criminality at the top is much more serious a crime and corrosive to the country than some homeless people. If your issue is homelessness, the solution is to get those people into shelters…things that Ds support. You can’t just ‘disappear’ them and Republicans do nothing to assist with the the actual problem.
But look at Biden - ran as a moderate and now it's spend $1.9 trillion earlier on pandemic relief (ok maybe we needed that one to prevent recession) and oh here's another 1.9trill on unnecessary crap like preK or paid leave or whatever. I mean I know people need it but I don't think it's up to me or government to provide it - that's what employers need to be doing. I get McA is less progressive than that - his $15 min wage plan is raise it by 2024, that's hardly progressive. IDK if I worry that much about criminality at the top - IDK how much that affects me if they're moving money around/trading/tax evading to help their families. It affects us more when there are threats on retail centers all weekends or a guy gets killed at an ATM in Falls Church at 6 am - GOP is much more - throw those criminals in jail and lose the key, which I agree with because I think it deters crime. Democrats generally (IDK about McA) are more about - oh these communities have hard lives, here are all the mitigating factors why they did it, they won't do it again, let them out . . . .

So I guess you missed the two times Virginia Republicans tried to intimidate women out of having abortions by introducing bills that would have required women to report all miscarriages to the police (one of the proposed bills would have even required to fish out the embryo/fetus from their miscarriage and weigh it for reporting purposes), and would have criminalized the failure to do so?
That was pretty extreme.
I’m only aware of one introduced bill (2009), and it was unanimously rejected. So, no, that does not paint Virginians as extreme.
