I had pre-ordered that one and then discovered that because it was pre-ordered, I had to take it and I couldn't cancel the order. Add that to the "journal" that one of Brandon's books promised from a pre-order that was actually a pamphlet and I'm done pre-ordering anything from anyone connected to any of them. Not to mention, most of these books just aren't good. I hope her publisher reads this thread.

Add to all that, the pre-order process is a game they play to get their books on “lists”. It’s all creepy to me.

I think she figured Glennon- Momastery-Wombach-wife Doyle did something similar and it revived her career for a while so why not throw some folks under the bus and see what works, although Abby may have done more for Glennon's fame than her book. They are are all circling the drain, dying their hair blonder, trying too look younger, vacillating between being know-it-all gurus to vulnerable and broken trying desperately to find the next hook to keep the attention coming and perhaps fill a void. They hide behind "charities" so people will think they must be good people while probably hoping nobody investigates these charities too closely or sees who the biggest donors are to make sure it's ethical or how valid all the charities are they disperse money to and so forth. They push those in their orbit, worst of all their own children, into the spotlight on their blogs and then social media rather than allowing them to grow and make mistakes and develop in peace. It's the same. game, different ladies. My guess is Hatmaker's book will bomb, but hopefully she will handle it with more dignity and grace than Dave Hollis, may he rest in peace.

Just another girl boss rising from the ashes tell all is not what the world needs today. Besides, Jen already wrote her "manifesto" on love, live, career, family and all the things called Fierce Free and Full of Crap that she published right before her own life blew up. How many "manifestos" does a basic privileged white woman have anyway?

I suppose it's low hanging fruit, but the Fierce, Free, and Full of Crap title is one I've been thinking for a while now, too.

Why does a divorce need to be very private? Marriages are very public. I get wanting to protect the kids, but what if they’re fine with it? What other reason does she have to keep things private?

It doesn't matter, because she'll choose it for a book club selection, just like she did the cookbook, and then that will make it "successful." She'll make a buck and go on her 50th birthday cruise and probably not look back.

I’m just laughing at how Brandon switched things up since his likely -ghostwritten-by-Jen book.

Jen is bringing up her divorce probably brxause she will be writing about it this year. A new “fierce” manifesto - gird yourselves !

Can we just all admit that attempting to monetize one’s very private divorce to sell books and stay famous is super super gross?? What is Jen going to say that 1,000 women haven’t said a million times before?

Seat mate not estimate

Oh man. This morning at church our pastor used a sermon illustration from Brandon’s book. It was the scene where he was on the flight to “plant trees” in Ethiopia. His Ethiopian seatmate asked why he was flying to Ethiopia , Brandon told him, then his estimate translated it to his mom, who was sitting across the aisle . She then started crying and thanking God- because she had prayed decades before for someone to come plant trees to replace the ones destroyed during the civil war.
With all that has become of the whole Hatmaker legacy , I wonder if this even happened ?
And I know if any of the guys in church saw Brandon’s IG, their eyes would pop out of their heads at Tina in her “100% not pastor wife appropriate” attire.

Totally agree.'It's agonizing work to heal and it humbles you--I got divorced after 25 years, husband's addiction took a hammer to our marriage--I've been there.

Either that or she shoved it all under the rug and now it's manifesting itself and she's going to actually have to do the work that she claims she did in five minutes right after it was final.
