My read is that Hillary won on points but the performances of both candidates will not change the minds of a single one of their hard core supporters. I have read that many Americans watch only the first 30 minutes of these presidential debates and if this is accurate, then that was when Trump did best and the average voter who has not made up his/her mind would be able to relate to what he said.

She clearly got under his skin especially in the second half of the debate and at times he came across as incoherent with jumbled thoughts.

For those who are not hard core supporters and are still open as to who they will vote for, there is nothing he did that would turn them off. Hillary's trust issues - which is her biggest problem - were not overcome by her performance yesterday.

So the crux of how those undecided people will vote has to do with who they think is a "change agent" and on this, Trump will win hands down because he is not the establishment politician the way that Hillary is and has been. So when he asked the question as to where she was the last thirty years in terms of making the needed changes, that will resonate with some of these undecided voters. It really does not matter if she was really in a position to effect changes in the roles she had in public life - most undecided voters will likely decide that she is not going to make the needed changes.

Trump achieved what he needed to do in this debate given that the bar he had to overcome was lower for him. Some of what he says at a visceral level is the sort of stuff that many voters actually do feel and he gives voice to their thoughts.

Have you watched the debate?

I'm just embarrassed by this entire presidency. Donald a candidate? It really just hit me last night.

Trump did not look presidential. He squinted, scowled, shifted, sniffled, chugged water and rambled all over the place.

yes, i feel sorry for my republican friends. they don't have a candidate to support who espouses their party politics.

trump is a lone wolf with indication of serious mental health issues, including delusions of grandeur and narcissistic personality disorder.

Sadly, Trump had so few facts that there is nothing to debate.

She's a stateswoman. She's prepared. He is an idiot.

Her arrogance is genuine. How's that likeable?

I'd feel arrogant debating a person who constantly lies and doesn't have any idea what he's talking about

This just confirms that you haven't done your own research. You listen to Fox and then go out and repeat what they said. Grow up, be an adult, do your homework.

This is what scares me about this election - someone as ignorant as Donald Trump repeats the line that "she hasn't accomplished anything" and only a few people are actually smart enough to know 1) how many years she was an elected official (Senator) and 2) how many years she was Secretary of State and 3) that neither one of those jobs means you are creating and enacting economic policies.

Meanwhile, Captain Underpants can says stuff like "she's been fighting Isis her whole adult life" and not get called on it. Good laugh over that one, and many others, but it's still super depressing that 50% of our country can't see that he doesn't have a clue, not to mention the fact that he's a racist and a pig and generally of DEPLORABLE character. This is not to say that she's perfect, but she's still the better choice hands down.

I may be a reluctant Hillary supporter but I am not a fool.

well said.

Facts are not lies.

She knows facts.

Lies include saying "I never started the birther controversy" when you did

Lies include saying "I never supported the Irag war" when you did

Lies include saying" I never said anything about her 'look'" when you did. Just 2 weeks ago, in fact.

I didn't see arrogance at all - she's a stateswoman - she had solid facts at hand. she brought up article 5. she understood the ins and out of the Iran deal.

Trump was asked about the economy and droned on about China, then Mexico, then Ford in Mexico. He was asked about global security and he went off on Saudi Arabia, Yemen, North Korea, and Iran - not in any coherent, pulled together way, but it was like random words thrown together with some aggressive spitting and sniffling.

The Trump trolls are strong on this thread, but its quite clear that Secretary Clinton won.
