Less than 30 including their current players.
There were Arlington ECNL players there, so that was surprising, no?
Nope, because the shift is happening and as with every team, everybody is looking for a better opportunity to position themselves.
The shift will be top girls to ecnl teams and the back end of the ecnl roster to GA teams. Maybe someday that will not happen but this year it will. You cannot get recruited from the back end of a GA team. You can get recruited from the back end of an ecnl team.
Lots of brave predictions by ECNL club parents. Let's see how things shake out next season on the tournament schedule. I've been to ID sessions of 4 different clubs and at this point the most competitive was SYC GA by a good amount.
ECNL ID sessions don’t start until March 1 so if you’ve been to ID sessions you’ve only been to GA ID sessions. No one is arguing with you that SYC GA isn’t the most competitive of local GA teams. You haven’t been to ECNL ID sessions yet.
You make it sound like a Real Madrid ID session. It is mainly kickball and push all over the place anywhere you go lol
...while being big and fast

2011G Green parent here. Lots of unfamiliar faces which is surprising and lots of Arlington backpacks walking in—talent was top notch from what I saw.
2010G side was lackluster.
2011 side looked like it was in between RL and ECNL. So basically what a GA team typically looks like.
Yes there seemed to be enough talent in the 2011 group to field a decent GA team. Maybe 8-10 ECNL girls, strong RL players from Arlington, McLean, Vienna and few GA girls. Just unsure if they would all accept unless they knew the other girls were accepting.
Harkes came out and spoke to the parents which was a nice touch. I watched the tryouts and agree that talent was top notch and right what you would expect from a GA team: not quite ECNL NL but higher than RL. It will be interesting to see where this lands as the new talent definitely was an upgrade from the current team which is also pretty solid. What is it with the 2011 BY??
