So he leads with illegal immigrants and end with God Bless?! I have to go bury myself in a hole with this unbelievable leadership.
Eh, I’m atheist and I don’t mind a God Bless thrown in there. It’s fine. Your God, or anyone else’s God can bless me if you want.
But I’m not sure why Guantanamo Bay was included in this release. It should have been ( and mostly was) specific to the crash. Talk about Guantanamo Bay in a separate release

Who was dropped off at Langley and why was this flight necessary in the first place?
Ehh, prob not a primary issue or an issue here. If they needed to get the BH back, it was probably offered up and then continued back to original FB base.
It’s a major issue because this is clearly a dangerous intersection and increasing traffic through it increases the risk of an accident. They should only be doing training flights through this corridor after DCA closes for the night, not during the busiest hour. Seems very likely they were there at this time because someone wanted to get home and so called a “protective detail” flight.

The recovery is in the water, not on the runways.
Still. Horrifying.
Absolutely! No one wants to see the wreckage beneath them as they land or fly out.
Did they close for the same amount of time for Air Florida?
I was 12. There was a snowstorm that hit that day. The city was pretty much shutdown. We got stuck at school. Parents stuck coming home from work. None of the school buses could get through we had dinner from the school cafeteria in the pod watching the wheeled in TV. I remember kids crying. One had a parent on the 14th street bridge where plane impacted. I still have images of that rescue operation and think of it every day when I cross that bridge.

It's incredible how quickly this administration gets information out by leveraging social media. It's completely different from the slow-moving bureaucracy of the previous administration; they would wait a week for a press conference on antiquated TV.
Sorry, but this is the wrong time to spew sock-puppeting propaganda crap. Keep in mind there ARE people in the DC area who are getting bad news right now.
And as for communicating, you are aware that not all Americans are glued to "X" right? In fact, most Americans still turn to official websites and national news outlets for information. As far as "fast" - it used to be that DoD had a requirement to get basic information out (via press release) an hour after a known Class A mishap.
