Do we know if any families paid tuition for the 22-23 school year before the school closed? And if so, were they reimbursed (potentially tens of thousands of dollars each)?

They probably all signed NDAs when they were hired

Telling the press that your employer hasn't paid you in months is not something an NDA would typically cover or restrict. I agree that forcing a spotlight on this through whatever means they have available is really the only viable option left for the teachers and other stiffed constituents

But can’t you break an NDA from an employer who stops paying you?

Who in their right mind would give him money for a closed school to clear teachers' back pay? Who in their right mind would believe that anyone would give him money in that scenario? And even if he raised money, there are plenty of other creditors in line with senior claims who probably won't see a dime. The amount of collateral damage left behind here is breathtaking

What’s worse is that he or his wife could pay them personally, but won’t.

Exactly. The financial transactions he needs to make are withdrawals from his/his wife's personal accounts into the personal accounts of the actual staff and faculty who were screwed over by him. He can act like it's all just conceptual -- cool ideas about education that are fun to dabble in from time to time-- but the real catastrophes wreaked on real people are the real results.

I am still bewildered that they got a job at a school like Maret. Oh whoops, I mean *Dennis got a job.

That would require having principles and a backbone.. Instead it looked like they or their proxies were trolling these boards insisting there is nothing to see...

Dennis is a yes man?

+100

But he'll keep sending emails with empty promises, insisting the next update is a week away

Whittle's doctors could announce that he has two weeks to live, and he would still be out there promising the next round of financing for the next big project only three or four weeks away!

It's a sick compulsion he has.
