We have been at this now for 3.5+ months here in the US. The world economy was wrecked over it. Entire sectors, including the airlines and travel. Children stopped seeing their friends. Alcohol and drug abuse went through the roof. Millions of small businesses in the United States alone were destroyed and will never come back.

Yet, we have another set of graphs, predicting the end of the world.

Here is a real number for you for deaths: 120,000 / 326.7 million = 0.00036731. Since you probably suck at math, that's 0.036% of the population of the US.

Here is another number for unemployment claims: 42.6 million / 326.7 million = 0.1429446. Since you probably suck at math, that is 14.29% of the population.

That't the reality of this complete cock-up of policy based on garbage models using epidemiology, which itself is not even a science.

Guess what, the American Public is done with this garage. If you want to cower in your basement forever and use Zoom, have at it. Everybody else is done with this garbage.

And, that doesn't even take into account that eventually we need heard immunity anyways, since there are no real plans for vaccination anyways.

I'll bet you wouldn't be so brave if you had to repeat these words to a crowd of those who have lost loved ones to covid over the past four months. Shame on you.

Nobody is more compassionate than the wise, saintly PP. He even thinks of the children!

Success in Germany was based on U.S. research that was ignored or dismissed by the U.S. government.

Thanks Trump. Thanks 'ignore science" GOP zealots.

Understand, our economy would be relatively fine with any modicum of competent leadership. It's, I don't know, almost like Trump is TRYING to destroy our country.

I'd say that the UK is not doing any better than the US.

It is interesting that the countries having the most deaths per capita recently all have authoritarian or authoritarian-leaning leaders

US, Brazil, Russia, India, UK

This

Greece has a travel ban from US but not China.

So frustrating. Think we will see countries letting Americans in or not based on state of residence?

Is this post for real or is it a parody?

It's real. One or two posters have been posting like this for months. They've made their own bad predictions, but we are supposed to ignore that.

Alternative Math. New projections are that there will be 200,000 deaths from COVID in the US by October. That means 200,000/350 million or 1 in 2000 Americans will die over a 6 month span

So about 1/1000 risk over a year

So a micromort is a unit of risk. One micromort is a one in a million chance of death. So by living in the US on average there is a 1000 micromort risk a year or a 3 micromort a day risk of dying of COVID.

YMMV
