Factually, WS has several that tried out at FCV, some 2 years in a row and weren't given offers.

Also factually, my DD and others we know at Spirit avoided FCV like the plague and did not even bother with their sessions. I think a couple of Spirit players last year moved to FCV. There’s no good or bad statement to be made either way. Those who prefer player development select WS and those who value winning at any cost prefer FCV. I’m ok with that and it’s just easier to accept the way it is instead of fight the reality.

Then I guess people should quite feigning surpirse and shock, if this is normal for youth soccer. Where there's smoke, there's fire. Players leacving last year, players talking of leaving this year, something is amiss.

My child is not part of this team and I am not making any of these above statements, but I'm not sure what comes of saying it to the face of a player or parent. Even if done with appropriate discretion, would you expect the player to resign from WS immediately or request change from club admin because of what 1 parent says?

A player centric club doesn't roster 25 players. That is for sure though a club that likes getting in those checks.

A player centric club keeps a smaller roster that allows players time to actually play. That's a huge part of development.

And yet, still, it's consistent with the club trying to develop a player they view as having potential at the cost of team wins. That's a player focused club. It's just that this poster doesn't want that, they want wins. It's clear from the repeated posts about losing, the fawning over FCV, etc. It doesn't sound like WS was ever the right fit for this person. And there's nothing wrong with that. But it doesn't make sense for this individual to stay in a club not focused on winning, especially when it's clear they are a lot more interested in putting younger players in challenging positions when they feel it makes sense (I know this poster doesn't; they are also not a pro coach).

At some point there needs to be an acceptance that this type of parent or player needs to go for broke and move to FCV or similar club, where the focus is almost exclusively on winning and not player development, at least at the highest level.

FCV has more talent on its teams. That 05 is really good. When you see her, she is getting it done out there. I don't mind play ups when they belong.

Challenging is only challenging if the player is stretched but able to compete. That's not what's happening here.

All of this is still consistent with the coaching staff challenging the player over trying for the win. I know it's frustrating, but they are favoring putting players in difficult situations vs tilting the odds toward scoring for a reason. If they were focused on the win, they would put the 04s in instead of the 05, as you said.

The game reports are wrong then. Every age group had play ups, including the U17 team.
