As I posted about coop 10:24, coop is an option for you.
If you don't need/want a coop, do research or study abroad.

Also, coop opportunities are all over the country and also overseas.
However most of the coop happen near Boston area maybe like 70-80%.
If your coop is in the Boston area, you can get on campus housing and still get involved with all the school activities and benefits.

It's just all about options and opportunities.
My kid missed an opportunity to do a study abroad and felt bad about it, but got a coop abroad in the Fall.
Just doing one coop.

My niece is there now. She is happy enough but I really don’t get the frenzy. She has not really been inspired by school from what I can tell. I think coop schools are great for some kids. She is doing a second coop in fall. She probably did not need these experiences to get a great job and it breaks apart the college experience. I say this as someone whose son is in a coop school (engineering) and I’m very glad he is getting coops. But it just doesn’t seem like a great school to me. Not bad mind you … but not amazing by any means.

It has improved just like any other schools like you said, but strangely there are some(if more than one) person/people who are obsessed with the past specifically when it comes to Northeastern. Actually, this thread, while long with gratuitous comments/ ranting at times, has been constructive for an anonymous forum like DCUM. Anyone who comes on here know you have to take the good with the bad.

How NEU is TODAY is more important than the backstory from decades ago. People try to bash Columbia based on rankings stuff and its reputation hasn't changed much: still in high demand.

Where NEU currently stands: a top 50ish national university. There's about 99,000 applications for 2,500 spots for the Boston campus.

This. ^^^Even if they did join the FB groups, which is not only not likely but extremely easy to verify by certain people, no sane adult would see a valid point in coming here to post about it. I will be sure to ask my friends affiliated with the university about any negative comments.

I think that was my second post on this thread…and I am not bashing the school. My kid seriously considered it. Picked a T25, however, over NEU.
