It's the league the team for the club is in. Sometimes just before 11v11 some clubs will have entire teams play up for marketing purposes and to increase revenue by being able to expand the roster of the club's top team(s). I am not aware of a league other than MLSN1 that didn't pick 8/1-7/31 but they might certainly be out there.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Leagues can choose different dates.Anonymous wrote:Why does the calculator include a 3rd age range from 9/1 to 8/31? I thought it was either 8/1 or BY.
Can individual clubs choose a different date range? Or only the league they are part of?

Just so I'm clear, are you saying someone born in 2021 could be a senior in high school with the 2009s? They surely would qualify based on 8/1/2009 and younger.
Serious question - if this is all about grades. Why didn't they just make it grade year instead of using dates?
I'm saying that when SY is started this fall if playing up is allowed this means the lower bound of 7/31 is unnecessary. I dont know how you got that a 2021 could be a senior in high school. Everything is defined below.
11v11 = U18/U19 = 8/1/2008 and younger = Senior
11v11 = U18/U19 = 8/1/2008 and younger = Junior
11v11 = U17 = 8/1/2010 and younger = Sophmore
11v11 = U16 = 8/1/2011 and younger = Freshman

7v7 = U10 = 8/1/2017 and younger = 3rd grade

4v4 = U8 = 8/1/2019 and younger = 1st grade

Still butchered. Go back to the correct one to start over. You just keep compounding your own errors.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Ok heres a better version

So seniors and juniors are in the same age group? What happened to the category '8/1/2010 and younger'. Why are they excluded? Gee, this is very difficult to manage.

Adding grade in school makes this so much easier to understand.
I do agree the Jul 31 date isn't needed. Why add it if players can play up? Seems odd.
