Thank you for describing this. I wasn’t checking out the piper, but I thought that I wasn’t paying attention when I realized that the coffin had disappeared and I had missed seeing what happened. (BBC broadcast) I imagined that as feeling somewhat chilling to watch, then I realized that the crypt can be visited, and it might be quite comforting to have one’s relatives just downstairs.

It happened so fast which is what Kate and Will tried to warn him about.

I feel sorry for him. He always had a big heart, was not the sharpest knife in the drawer but a decent person who valued his military service and now that is gone too.

Reports were that Harry was informed that Prince Philip went home from hospital to die, and Harry chose not to go to UK to see him.

The whole world knew he went home to die.

After that revolting interview, he wouldn't have been wanted by Philip anyway.

I am in a similar situation to Harry but I'm not famous so you won't judge my choices the same way. I have a dying parent in another country. I'm trying to navigate quarantine requirements in two countries. Should I go immediately, wait to be vaccinated, go when they're alive or go to the funeral. I'm choosing options 2 & 3, and am hoping I achieve 3 before 4 happens. I won't be returning for a funeral if that happens after I return to the US.

Furthermore Harry faces criticism from British citizens who can't travel abroad freely at the moment - imagine if he came and went if he pleased twice.

Harry also knows that Prince Edward travelled late in Sophie's pregnancy. She had a placental abruption and both she and Louise just about died. Zara had a very late miscarriage and had to deliver the baby. So he has the added worry of a pregnant wife who's already miscarried before.

Maybe Lady Sarah Chatto? She’s Princess Margaret’s daughter and is very close to the queen. She was in this PBS special I saw about the Queen’s 90th bday and she came across as very sweet and down to earth. Surprising, considering her mother was neither.

The only woman who walked in behind Prince Philip's coffin was Princess Anne with the wide-brimmed black hat and many military medals on her coat. The camera angle may have made her look more petite.

It was about 45 minutes before the casket came out of the castle. When the military was lining up. I think it was one of these people because I saw her in the far background at the chapel.

Totally agree. No one does weddings or funerals like the Brits. Every now and then, it's nice for the world to watch something like this to be reminded of the importance of history.

If anything, the Wessexes are the kind-hearted, non-flashy and definitely non-greedy line of the family.

Why wasn’t her younger brother James participating in the tribute outings? He loved them as well. The Wessex family seems to care for the Queen very much. And all of her grandchildren love and adore the Queen and her late husband. That was very much evident from the statements released.

The previous poster was assuming Lady Louise was attending these events to "up" her image to get a better financial payout from the Queen. So yes, I think they were assuming the worst intentions. I would think Prince Edward and Sophie didn't want to force 13 yo James to attend any viewing of memorial cards for his grandfather, and no walking behind coffin. Each grandchild seemed to be able to choose the right way to pay tribute to their grandfather -- whether by releasing statemements and photos via Instagram or attending events with their parents.

Have you ever been to Washington National Cathedral? There are many notable people buried there, including President Woodrow Wilson, Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan.
