I can forgive him for what he did and pray for him because I am Christian, but it remains morally bankrupt and reprehensible.
This was 35 years ago. People change A LOT in 35 years. There is no reason to think that he is the same man now as he was then.
He is not the same man as 35 years ago, but there was no self reflection and no admitting that it was WRONG. Black Virginians handed him his victory. We can and do better now and we should.

He apologized. It was 35 years ago. Let him continue. If anything, he will be more sensitive to racial issues going forward.

If Northam were a Republican the right would be saying "Boys will be boys!" "Ancient history!"
That anyone on the right feels compelled to be outraged is beyond.
The VA GOP has attacked Northam in the past for supporting the removal of Confederate statues. Now the outrage? Hypocrites. Evry damn one of you.
How quickly you all forget Kavanaugh's yearbook and his dear friends' entries about the Klan. SMH.
The irony?
It's not Republicans calling for his resignation. And, if you did take the time to read the posts here, you would see that it is people who have identified as Trump supporters and Republicans who don't think he should resign for something that happened 35 years ago. Not all, but some.
Your anger is misplaced.
Take a look at Trump's twitter feed as well as Don Jr.'s. They ought to keep their mouths shut.
Your support for Trump means you relinqish your rights to pass any moral judgement on anyone.

I agree, people can change. I hope and pray that in his heart that he has changed. But I don't believe someone who made racist choices in his adult past can lead effectively in Virginia.
How has he changed? What has he done to activley try to dismantle racism?
He's at the intersection of I don't want to go down in history as a racist and I really want to show off my moonwalk.

But I also see a left wing embracing these rappers who say the nastiest things imaginable about women and it’s all ok!
So, I think it’s funyn when they say I am supposed to get worked up about this yearbook picture.
You are comparing the highest elected leader in the state to musicians?
