Subject: Private School Lacrosse Thread
Darien has not played one school in top twenty while Landon has played a number. Real issue is going to be how Landon plays tomorrow against Prep and Sunday against GZ. If Landon loses one of these games it will be the end of the dream of ending year in the top spot.

Bullis has 5 transfers. One from St. Stephens, one from Mount Saint Joseph, one from Pallotti, one from a NOVA public school and one from a MOCO public school. If I did my math correct, that equals 5 transfers. Lastly, there are only 10 kids on a lacrosse field at once.... so 50% of Bullis starters are new to the school. No school in the IAC even comes close to taking in transfers at this rate. Your basketball program does the same shit and your football program is even more guilty. Most IAC programs appear to be more committed to developing their players through a JV system.

Subject: Private School Lacrosse Thread
The Adrenaline NESCAC showcase in Florida in December is a really good event. The NESCAC coaches were all there (there were a couple of assistant coaches but mostly head coaches), and they coached the kids through position stations and then on teams that play each other. It is fun, WARM, and low key. The players get to see what the coaches are like as people, and our son left feeling like he really had a sense of them all. Terrific event -- and if you can swing it, it is fun to be in Florida for a long weekend in December. I think it is a great junior year event. NE Top 150 and Good to Great are also good summer events. I would suggest summer after the sophomore or junior years.

not sure of the exact names but there a ton of d3 specific showcases!! google will find them. I don't recommend sending your son to one until he is a rising senior, because d3 coaches rarely recruit earlier than that. My son plays division 1 lacrosse but regrets not going d3, there is nothing wrong with it, sometimes the schools are better and while the lacrosse isn't as good, it's still very high level of play. NESCAC/D3 recruiting typically didn't gear up until the summer prior to Junior year, and really the senior year was the focus. The new NCAA rules re: early recruitment will push the D3 timeline later, don't you think? Wonder what will happen to showcases like this one, which will take 9th graders.

New England 150 at Portsmouth Abby School in RI, Elite 180 in Keene, NH and Prep Lax Showcase at different locations. All NESCAC coaches attend in addition to Swarthmore, Haverford, W&L, etc. Amherst camp is called "Good to Great" and has D1 and D3coaches.

Agree that Mater Dei kids took full advantage of the repeat a grade (usually 6th when a new class opens up at Mater Dei) and the early recruiting phenomenon. Now that colleges have to wait until junior year I bet you will see fewer holdbacks because 16 year old freshman will not be as studly once they become juniors as their classmates catch up to them in the maturation race.
