This show has gone downhill and I don't want to watch it anymore. The drama with Bethenny is boring. She's evil.

Just read they are giving her 1.5 million next year. It has become her livelihood.

Yup, Bethenny acts like a mean girl and goes on the attack to whoever's the weakest, then fake apologizes about her behavior or fake cries about her challenges to try to position herself as sympathetic and "real". I'm a softie who is usually the first to give people a break, but with her its is all so calculated and transparent.

Completely agree, pp. Although I think Bethenny wanted to make more of her relaionship drama just talking to Carole. She does sem to hate LuAnn. I do not like LuAnn all that much but Bethenny is unhinged. And the fakcrying does not make you look vulnerable, it makes you look like you are throwing yourself a pity party.

So this year the season starts with her having her fake chat with Carlole and saying her boyfrind wants to marry her and woah, she might get married again. Wait, B we have been down this road before. Made a sh&t ton of money and a spin off marrying Jason. I think whe thought this could be her storyline. Oops LuAnne got engaged and upstaged her.

I could not care less what Tom has or has not done. Bethenny and the dumb picture was fake as could be. But Andy Cohen was in on it. Producers took the photo and Andy wanted to use it. Bethenny agreed because he pays her the big bucks. Ths was going to be the explosive storyline. But it wasn't. All I saw was B descending into crueler and meaner behavior. They dragged out a kiss hello among old friends for three episodes. This is basically B an Andy thinking all of the viewers are idiots.

Except that her boyfriend clearly doesn't want to be on television, otherwise I think we would have seen him by now.

I also don't think Bethenny wants to play out a relationship in front of cameras again and in the (agreed, fake) conversation with Carole she said she did NOT want to get married again. It wasn't until the reunion that she said she'd consider it. I think she has as genuine dislike for LuAnn that goes all the way back to the first season. Digging into her about this Tom thing is not only a fun little outlet for Bethenny, it distracts viewers from her own relationship, which really looks like it started before her boyfriend separated from his wife.

I wonder how they'll try to resurrect Bethenny's fan base next season. She and Andy have lost a lot of ground recently.

When she sold Skinnygirl to Beam she receivedan upfront payment many believe to be about $40 million. As is customary additional incentives were tied to future performance of her brand ( sales). In 2013, sales for her brand took a nosedive, -26%. Sales overall for Beam went up. You can read this:

She could not have met her target in 2013 and it is hard to believe 2014 would have better. Her return to RHONY and the constant product placement show she is using the show to shill for her brand. Problem is her product sucks.

Good point, 8:40. IMO Bethany thinks her path is the only valid one, so she looks down on women who marry into money.

Agree. I also think it bothers her when someone married or is marrying a rich man because she married a man without much money or a career. Jason got a lot of money from her (justifiably) and I think it drives her nuts that someone like Jules got a lot of money just by marrying a successful man. I think she thinks everyone should have to claw their way to wealth like she did. Bitter woman.

IMO Bethenny is lashes out because she cannot handle anyone she perceives to have something "better" than she does. Jules is skinnier and younger. Luann because she is in love and getting married. Because she is emotionally stunted, Bethenny feels threatened even though Jules is thin because she's a recovering anorexic, and Luann is in love with someone who is clearly not what he seems, to put it mildly.
