Several officers try to bring Pretti's arms behind his back as he appears to resist. As they pull Pretti's arms, his face is briefly visible on camera. The officer with the canister strikes Pretti near his head several times.

A shot rings out, but with officers surrounding the man, it's not clear from where the shot came. Multiple officers backed off of Pretti after the shot. More shots are heard. Officers back away and Pretti lies motionless on the street.

The officer who shot Pretti is an 8-year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol, federal officials said.


No, it's not about training, except possibly for the fact that ICE/CBP have probably never been trained AT ALL in interacting with the general civilian population.


Ice we’re doing what they were trained to do. Harass and intimidate and if necessary, kill.

I was at a protest near his home this week. Obviously not in DC.

He is the biggest C word B word in history. He has the NYPD keep protestors - who were 25 in total max with signs in freezing weather - on the other side of a major avenue. He is another man in the high castle. He is worthless. Schumer has NO desire and NO instinct to speak with the constituents that elevated him from the House lo those many years ago. If Zuck and Pichai promised Schumer that his adult daughters who work for Facebook and Google could get more stock options, in exchange for his vote to increase ICE funding and public support of Trump - Schumer would do it.

He will never change and this is who he has always been. He will not go to people like Murkowski or Collins or any “sane Republican” to stop this shit. Never. He is Chamberlain.

Don't forget when they gassed a baby. Dragged a US Citizen with absolutely no criminal record from his home in his underwear. Kidnapped a 5 year old and a 2 year old who were under legal asylum claims. Detained a US Citizen for 2 days because she was wearing a hijab and gave her only pork sandwiches. And I could go on and on.

When he is on the ground, the officers are on top of him probably trying to cuff him. One officer who is a couple of feet away from the scrum pulls his side arm and fires a shot, hitting the man on the ground. The officer all move away from him, leaving him prone on the ground. I wish they'd stop calling these goons federal agents. Federal agents are well vetted and trained. They serve with dignity and courage-they use morals and ethics to guide their decisions. ICE "officers" are not this. Stop calling them federal agents it is an insult to true federal agents.

Training doesn't make someone not a goon. The very nature of carrying a gun to enforce authority over other people makes you a goon. You just used to like the people whose authority they were enforcing and believed the people they bullied were deserving.

The problem with the death penalty was the chance that an innocent person was put to death.
