Parents wont have FOMO and ALL in the area will send their 29 to the MDDC tryout.
The 29 girls themselves are already thinking something is cooking within the MDDC organization! Yes, your kid is considering playing for MDDC. It sucks you are unable to control everything.
Where? Rankings? I can't wait for you to see how none of that matters. Every one of those girls on 27 and 28 Blue will go to a great school.

Anonymous wrote:I wonder if some of the people posting encouraging md dc to stay together are parents of girls trying out for capital and know their daughters have a better shot at blue if the md dc girls don’t try out.

Probably looking at the American Select roster and seeing 10 m&d dc girls and a measly 3 BLC girls on the roster and thinking why would we want to combine with a less talented team? Maybe the BLC parents should bring their kids over to m&d dc tryouts?
Maybe M&D DC should try beating BLC for the first time in 2 years before they start taking shots at BLC players?
I think 12-8 is a pretty solid beating.
Word of advice from a parent who has been through this. M&D DC stay put. Do not go to capital.
The MDDC squad is definitely strong with good talent. But if you’re barely beating a Stars team, who had one sub on the bench by 1 in overtime, that reeks of inconsistency. Usually, that’s indicative of immature and ineffective coaching. Unless there are major coaching changes, MDDC seems like a huge gamble compared to the proven track record of other clubs with good coaching and recruiting.
Could it also be that two teams just combined and they are still gelling as a team which is exactly the tag line capital uses for their teams. You talk of proven track record of recruiting sure. Capital can only do so much with the talent that comes to tryout and how the politics of it all shake out. Look at what happened with the 28s. If mnddc stay together they will grow as a team just like a capital team would.

I have been through this before and have an excellent understanding of the next steps, including how college recruiting works. There’s really no doubt which local high school club is the best for this. People are trying to build their brand and need to make certain promises. I get it. My (good) daughter is not going to be part of this experiment. Good luck to you all. Hope you all can manage to make a decision you don’t regret
If you stay with capital you are part of a different experiment of how long a club can survive on reputation alone, without adapting with the changing game. You won’t have the luxury of seeing the 27s and 28s recruiting before you make your decision, but you might be wise to look at how many capital girls actually play in college vs attend and are part of the team. It may not matter to you, but it is a statistic worth looking into. You also might want to consider how much your family is relying on any money. Capital finds most of their girls homes, but that may not come with much or any financial assistance.
