If people think voting for the GOP - likely Trump or not voting at all and by default enabling Trump to win - we won’t be going to get peace. Not in the Middle East, not in the United States, not anywhere. It we will be in a full-on fascistic state where people will be barred from basic civil rights because they are Muslim or gay or a woman (not that these aren’t in jeopardy already).

All these people who hate Israel, who deny it the right to protect itself from offensives from neighbors and terrorists, and want to “show Biden” for having the basic morality to support Israelis in the wake of the heinous attack of October 7 when so many were completely SILENT.

I don't hate Israel. Don't deny it the right of self defense. Their bombing of Gaza is not self defense and doesn't get rid of Hamas, or the idea of Hamas. Just creates a new generation who will want to join the next version of Hamas. Their tactics have been brutal and have resulted in the loss of thousands of innocent civilians. You can't convince me that they couldn't have engaged different tactics to get rid of Hamas with less loss of civilians.

I understand Biden supports Israel. However, he has been callous in regards to the lives of Palestinians lost.

His comment that he was a Zionist, when that is such a loaded word to so many people.

His complete disregard of the number of Palestinians killed, when those numbers have been found reliable in previous conflicts thus far.

His complete disregard of the Palestinians prior to October 7. As if there was no problem, no issues going on in the West Bank, no settler violence, etc. Biden could have done/said things differently that wouldn't have alienated the Arab-American/Muslim voting block.

I have never voted for a Republican in 20 years and I don't plan to start. I think they don't know how to run government, have no plans on how to improve the lives of Americans, and a lot of them are beholden to racists and Islamophobes. And they will make my life in America more difficult if they are in power, no doubt. But I'm tired. I will vote my conscience. It's about time I do.

Also The Rapture, in evangelical Christianity, is where all of the good Christians get beamed up to heaven so no one is burning. You're right on the women's rights thing but if someone's primary issue is only supporting Israel and they don't care about any other issue then they are going to be be more closely aligned with Evangelical Christians than progressives.

This was literally my first post on this thread and I am a registered democrat for many years. I think there is something cognitively wrong with Biden and don't think he was particularly bright to begin with. I morally cannot vote for someone who I don't think is physically able to do the job. I don't want some random person running the show behind the scenes so the democrats need to put up something else or they are going to lose. Gavin Newsom would be my first voice but don't see that being an option.

Newsom is an option if you want to lose worse than Mondale did.

Please try to deal in reality. It will be Trump v Biden, which means you vote Biden or you vote for insanity.

I voted for Biden the first time on that logic and I'm not doing it again. And unless you have a crystal ball how do you now it will be Trump? He could be dead or in jail by then. That it potentially will be him is not enough of a reason for someone who is practically a corpse in a suit to be president for two terms. And setting that aside, polls already show Trump leading Biden in every battleground states so the reality is that Biden is already poised to lose. So again wouldn't it make more sense to offer a viable alternative candidate rather than insisting, despite all evidence to the contrary, that voting for Biden is the only way to win?
