I see that bias and hatred runs strong on DCUM too. Miranda is a Mom of three whose very young kids struggled with a year on screens in their house. All of you hating on her should check YOUR bias against women, especially working women. Would you spout such personal vitriol against a man? Of course not. You save that anger for a woman. Despicable

There was one more NAACP candidate forum with just the Education Committee. That's where I think DP felt there was some racist sentiment coming from Miranda.
I just listened to this link. Thank you. Just FYI Miranda was against SROs in schools in 2001.
She seems very progressive on this link. Talking about access to housing before MM was even a hot topic. I'm so confused.
She had to be. She was seeking the NAACP endorsement. She messed up the first time with the Ed Committee. I hope someone can find that link, but it was a reverse face. She wasn’t so progressive elsewhere. Truth be told, the naacp isn’t going to endorse anyone who is pro SRO.
can someone post the link to the Ed Committee forum? or at least tell us what Miranda said that was not so progressive?
Lol. It’s a figment of their imagination. I watched it live and remember no issues. That said given who runs the Ed committee and their comments and observations on AEM I wouldn’t be surprised if the sun rising gives off a racist sentiment. MT has been anti-SRO since the beginning. Will be interesting to see if she waivers given recent safety concerns.
Perhaps you saw no issues because you agree with Miranda?
I’m fundamentally opposed to the caucus and will not participate in that farce. I also disagree w MT on SROs.
She’s been anti. I’d like to know what she thinks now that they’re out.
now I'm confused. How does MT feel about SROs?

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Are the races this nutty everywhere??? Is it common for a political party to endorse school board candidates? We are just starting to pay attention to the APS stuff bc our kids will be going soon. I’m kinda scared!
I have no idea how the SB races are elsewhere, but I'm scared this time, like you. We've never had such a race before; a "normal" candidate is missing. Miranda Turner seems to have a lot of devoted fans and a lot of abject haters. I don't know what to believe.
Antonio is barely a college graduate with no family here, nor any ties to APS or Arlington at all. He's from California - no experience, but high political ambitions, likely also no intention of staying here.

You haven't seen the video that was posted then. Miranda clearly said that she is pro-SRO at the end of the session and explained why. No debate there. It's on video.
