Agreed. Some of the top public school kids wouldn’t even start on some of the better privates. Not a knock, just reality.

Start by being better than other players at a young age, which will get you a spot on a top travel team. Then, be among the best players on a top team, which will eventually get you name recognition and invitations to top events. The secret is being very good at lacrosse, and having the means to play it year round from a relatively young age. I really don't think it is more complicated than that, and I don't think private school is necessary to achieve the desired result.

Those years mean a lot, but you wouldn't understand any of that. A glaring example of everything wrong with lacrosse in the DMV
Can you explain? Who are the results in earlier years supposed to matter to?

Does club brand matter? Of course it does. It helps to get your foot in the door. But at the end of the day, your DD has to perform in front of the coaches.

You can think of the last few years as building a resume so your DD is able to be invited to these events in front of evaluators.

Club brand and connections have a ton to do with it. If Capital Blue isn't an option then you have sacrifice and look north.


If by “isn’t an option” you mean “you do not make Capital Blue” then I am not so sure a MD club to the north is an option either.
