The last scene in which Jack was alive, just before Rebecca went to make phone calls and get snacks, I got the feeling that Jack knew he was going to die. The look on his face said he knew something wasn't right.

I've realized that whenever I cry during this show, it's maybe 10 percent what's going on onscreen, and 90 percent of my own crap I'm bringing into it. The hospital scenes (first William, now this) completely gut me because of memories of my mother's last days in the hospital.

+1

My mom died 20 years ago, around the same time as Jack. This show really brings me back to that time, so yeah, lots of bawling on my end.

besides everything else.... they really did a nice twist with young/grown up Tess (Randall's daughter).

It was all done well ... understated in some ways, which made it more poignant. Sigh... R.I.P. Jack!

Is it valid to call in sick in the morning, not because of the Super Bowl but because of the extra drink(s) to get through this show?

Justin Hartley is killing it in this tree scene. Is it just me or does he start to sound more like his dad (literally voice) here?

I have been wondering if the fire is all a red herring and Jack is going to survive... time will tell.

He's going to make it out of the fire and everyone will be relieved, and just when we think this isn't the moment... he will suffer the effects of smoke inhalation. I do not think Rebecca will be with him. Perhaps only Kate, who calls 911 and they take him to the hospital by ambulance.

I think this because:
We know THIS is the Super Bowl he dies. Rebecca, wearing her steelers shirt, is driving the car home with Jack's personal items in a plastic bag. She pulls up to the burnt house, presumably the next day.

The only thing that stuck out to me is that she was wearing a pink robe before bed, when she took the call from Kevin. I kept wondering when/why the steelers shirt is put back on. They must assume they're safe and then something happens which causes her to get dressed (with what clothes? they all burned in a fire) and drive herself to the hospital.

Maybe Rebecca looks for Kevin, Jack/Kate/Randall all go to Miguel's after the fire, that's when Jack has his episode and then Rebecca meets him at the hospital.

You HAD to have had inside scoop on this!!

If he inhaled enough smoke to kill him, you'd think he would have received some medical care, like oxygen.

I'm up and watching. Sort of dreading to see what's to come.

I'm up and watching! Couldn't believe when I saw the dog scene, but then he came back out.

Annoyed they are starting it this late. Have to wake up at 6 AM
