Same. I’ll go a step further and say he’s repulsive and looks like he sweats excessively during sex. Unattractive and he’ll have a beer belly when he gets older.

I'm PP and I don't disagree with you

NP he reminds me of my childhood Stretch Armstrong Doll, outwardly muscular, but sort of gooey. I don’t really know how to describe it.

Oh man, this is so funny. Thank you for the laugh.

Omygosh same AND the stretch Armstrong doll is the perfect comparison!
When he was in The Vow with Rachel McAdams, all I could think of was that any sane woman would go back to Scott Speedman immediately.

Cheesy and waaaaay overhyped. The "music" gives me a headache.

I feel like we are supposed to publicly celebrate that white historical figures were made into black characters, but it seems disingenuous to change these people in this way. And people would be screaming if this was done the other way. It’s just kind of stupid and overwrought.

Which white historical figures are you talking about?

Umm Alexander Hamilton for one.

I actually can't believe the PP even asked this question. Seriously??
I can't believe that someone is using Alexander Hamilton as an example of an historical figure being turned into a black character. I take it we're talking about the musical Hamilton? It's hardly a serious biography of the life of Alexander Hamilton.

What about the biblical movies that have been made over the years? Were people from the middle east, people with light brown skin have been played by white people over the years? I've seen movies were white people have played Native Americans? Did that bother you too?

Recently, PP? Or are you talking prior to 1970?

+1. And they are both deeply insecure about it. To the point they both spend tons and tons of money to manufacture stories about them being "genius."

What is repugnant about Beyonce?

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I hate when a podcast seems more like advertising for the host(s) product or service. Example: I follow several decluttering podcasts, and they always work in mentions of their private groups, not as ads during the podcast but part of the discussion.

Counterpoint: I love unnaturally colored hair! I love creative and colorful people. The world would be a lot more boring without them.

DP. I'm tired of "creatives" trying to broadcast their creativity by dyeing their hair green, wearing nothing but pasties up top, or whatever. How about showing us your creativity through your actual art, music, or photography?

Like you would ever go to a show. You’re too busy driving your kid to travel soccer.

Oooh, got me. Nope. My sister had a solo painting show last month, she does pretty transgressive work that's on the line between titillating and offensive, but she dresses normally and mocks the people you think are "cool" because of their green hair.

Literally no one with green hair cares about your sister's opinion.

They can express themselves through all of those things and also how they choose to dress or style themselves. Why do you feel like people are required to live within the bounds of what some random stranger is “tired of”?

Isn't the whole point of this thread to be a safe space to state unpopular opinions? Not a place for debate?

No, but it bothered me that Rita Moreno, who is one of the least Italian looking actresses out there, played an Italian woman in The Four Seasons, but then decried that white actors played Puerto Ricans in the original West Side Story movie.

Sorry, but that’s different than a 21st century musical in which white characters are played by black actors.

I think green can be a particularly terrible hair color choice.

A few years back, there was a male rapper at the VMAs who dyed his hair green. Except he had very short hair, so it looked like he had algae on his head.

Not long after, Billie E dyed half her hair the same green color. It looked like a plant was sprouting from her scalp.
