GenX is the most screwed over generation. All the crap trickling down from boomers our entire lives. Disillusionment reigns supreme. Not sure it’s support for Trump as much as exhaustion with the constant whining of millennials and gen Z.
I am solidly GenX and my antipathy to being governed and ruled and shaped by the babyboomers has been profound.
PP here. This. Think it’s difficult for other generations to see the suffocating effect of boomers.
I’m GenX married to a Boomer. I’m just sick and tired of people trying to divide us by generations. My husband fights for social justice and environmental progress as hard as anyone, and has done so for forty years. People are people regardless of the year they were born, and we all deserve to be treated as individuals and judged by our actions, not by some kind of collective guilt.
The youngest boomers are 61. Maybe they could retire and give the rest of us a little space? They have overstayed their time in the light.
You want people with kids in college to retire?
I’m not the poster advocating for Boomers to retire, but very few Boomers have kids in college. Boomers are 60-80 years old.

No offense but this reads like “all lives matter.” The fact remains that boomers turned their backs for years on any policy that could have a slight negative impact on them but helped future generations. I am disappointed in GenX’s voting habits but let’s not pretend boomers as a whole haven’t royally F’ed other generations. Only reason boomers aren’t happy with Trump is because he is messing with SS, Medicare and Medicaid, and not because they suddenly grew a collective conscious.
That’s a pretty generalized statement there. The thread about the protest on 4/5 was full of complaints about there being so many boomers there. And, no, we were not just protesting SS and Medicare.

Gen x here and never in a million years would support Trump. He is a vile disgusting person. And I blame people like my dad (older than a boomer) for supporting Trump. They are angry and bitter. Why? They had loads of opportunity their entire adult lives. A opportunity to build wealth. More than myself or my kids will ever have.
