Now that’s what I call a sprint! It’s as if they're in a high-stakes race against the clock. And let’s talk about that dazzling lineup; every player has picked a school that boasts its own delightful quirks. Who would have imagined that lax recruiting could be this electrifying?!
See these are the posts that get people annoyed lol
Although I agree with you completely it comes off very cheerleaderish…. Read the room
I mean, if you're hanging out in this forum, you must have some hometown pride for any girl from the DMV who's making the leap to D1 lacrosse, especially when you consider that a mere 3% of high school lacrosse players even make it to that level! So, I hope you're waving your pom-poms for these girls and cheering with all your heart! Sorry if my enthusiasm is getting on your nerves, but can we really blame a little positivity?

For many Capital families, unlike families in less affluent places, lacrosse is great fun but is mostly a means to an ends which is getting into a better college than would otherwise be possible. That can be a college with a general acceptance rate of under 20-25% or maybe under 10%.
It’s pretty disingenuous to pretend that no one around here is going to question why a Capital lax player is committing to a college that doesn’t meet that criteria, especially on an anonymous forum - just not realistic.
Those who are questioning other girls' decisions clearly are not going through the recruiting process. I know this forum is helpful to people with younger kids who are trying to understand the process but YOU JUST WAIT.... Seriously. Just wait until you are going through this. For a few, it's a wonderful, seamless process that they worked their asses off for years to achieve. For everyone else who worked their asses off over and is trying to get recruited there is MAJOR stress involved.

I copied this from the above link. It is a very healthy approach.
Only a measly 3% of high school lacrosse players actually make it to play Division 1 in college. Seriously, let that sink in before you start tearing apart a family's choice or a player's decision to attend a particular school!
“You have to remember that everyone is coming from a different spot. Some folks will use the recruiting process to get into the best academic school possible, regardless of the money involved. For others, the main focus is lowering the cost of college as much as possible. Some families are focused on playing for the "best" lacrosse program they can play for. All these decisions are fine as long as they meet the family's needs.
Trying to put your priorities onto other families' choices just doesn't make sense since everyone is coming from a slightly different place.”
I like that its keeps being posted. Its a good reminder to keep things in perspective.
