They'll go but they will still be every bit the DPL and ECNL R player they were before. That is how dilution works. The only way they make a ECNL or GA team is through league expansion, not by being already a strong enough player.

The truth is that there's sooo much more potential talent in America than is currently being tapped into.

Instead if trying to block others out you should be encouraging growth in the sport.

Limiting the numbers of teams in national leagues leaves out a whole lot of potential talent that develops later into their teen years. As much as we like to think the best players will make the best teams at any age, in reality, rosters for these teams are mostly set by U14 and getting through after that is very difficult. Club politics, coach familiarity, commuting distances, all make it difficult. I don't see why having more teams, giving more opportunities for more players, could be bad for players. The players - isn't that what we are all in this for?

Won’t matter for the elite ballers cause they should be pros by 17 if the current trends continue. It’s getting down to single digits of USWNT u17 players who are choosing college over pro contracts at this point. GA or ECNL? Who cares? Does your kid features and play for a team that will be at a showcase, next! It’s on them now not the league they played in as MS early HS teenager

It's on the league to have showcases that are worth it for scouts to attend.

Because it is supposed to be "elite". These are showcase leagues and if the process is complicated due to dilution it becomes harder to find top talent even in showcases claiming to have top talent.:

I see. So it’s bad for college recruiters who will need to be better at finding players instead of just going to one place? I’m ok having bigger leagues that are better for players and clubs with the trade off that it’s worse for college recruiters that only affects a small number

Ideally, most kids in an elite league would plan on playing in college. If college scouts can't be bothered to see teams play, it's a good indication that the teams and their showcases aren't as elite as the marketing material implies
