If Loomis has their lineup, they will beat St. Albans.

Prep and St. Albans are breaking the line. Lol

Here you go. Tell them all about your son thriving academically in the IAC.

I want my son to attend a school that value high caliber academics over athletics, hence why he we are at a school in the IAC and thriving.

I find it odd how frequently SJC boosters / alumni post on here obsessing over HS sports...

It make you wonder if its alums are truly setup for success in life for the long haul as many appear to be living in the past.

Someone needs to navigate to another message board topic.

Loomis is a decent/good CT private that can hang with DeMatha/PVI type schools and beat Riverside but shouldn't be able to hang with Culver/SJC/GP/STA. Riverside is a good VA public but shouldn't be able to hang with any of these teams.

Anyone heading to the Atlantic Coast Showcase at St. Johns 11/19? Looks like really good teams will be there. Culver Academy, Episcopal Dallas, Georgetown Prep, Loomis Chaffee, Paul VI, DeMatha, Riverside, St. Alban's, St. John's. Not familiar with who Loomis Chaffee is or who Riverside is, but looks like a good day of lacrosse!

Well..... This is a sports part of the forum you are in and not the education part.

I guess IAC reading comp is not what it used to be.

IAC athletics are on the public school level.

Not even close for the geographic area the IAC serves, but the WCAC is way out in front because of the ability to provide financial aid to athletes. They take an already discounted tuition and can cut it even more. The WCAC (with SJC taking the lead) is all by itself and then the IAC and way behind them is the MAAC. The MAAC is probably far more equivalent to public school athletics. BTW, Good Counsel has jumped into the lacrosse scholarship game.

Prep academic advantage comes from all the exchange asian kids.

Let me reverse that for you. The WCAC test scores are pulled down from all the scholarship athletes.

Gonzaga is maybe the only school from the WCAC that can compete academically with the IAC.

WCAC schools tend to be much larger than the IAC schools and tuition is generally half the price if not less. The facilities some of the IAC schools offers and general resources are insane. (look at Episcopal or Georgetown Prep's campus and compare it to DeMatha's or SJC)
