It turns out that they signed a surety and didn’t actually give the court cash. There should be an investigation into who promised to reimburse them. This seems like corruption on the part of the magistrate judge. I want to know a lot more about his hourly worker father.
Can anyone explain this? If they did not actually provide the bail...why is he walking around free?
Not PP but I think the idea is that yes, they provided the $500,000 but there’s no way that a house painter and a mail handler would have $500,000, so someone must have given it to them.
