I think you're taking the concept of "dress code" waaaaay too seriously. She doesn't wear pants to "throw insult" on anyone. She wears them because she's comfortable in them and looks fantastic. Good on her. They were obviously very dressy and elegant and were fine for the occasion. It wasn't a state dinner.
DP. It was a black tie event. It doesn't matter if it was a state dinner or otherwise. If the dress code was black tie, it was black tie.
