How does a team almost win when they lose 0-3?
I think PP probably meant to say VU won 3-0 rather than 0-3.
VU won 3-1 and lost 0-2 v. Loudoun (tourney). Agreed, seem evenly matched, not too aggressively coached, equal talent and mutual respect. Mid table teams providing competitive games both hi and low.
Union won 3-0. This might be the first time a 3-0 game would ever be described as “anyones game”.
Yet Loudoun beat Union 2-0 and completely controlled the game only 2 weeks ago. This is anyones game Loudoun had 1 bad game but both teams are average
Loudoun is 1-4-1 in league play in October Union is 4-1-1 against the same teams. Loudoun has had more than one bad game.
Loudoun people call that record ahmazing. But then they wonder why they’re the laughin stock of NOVA soccer *insert tacky hashtag phrase that makes us think we’re better*
Union is in 6th place and Loudoun 7th why is Union suddenly a good team? Both teams are average at best and no where near VDA or Courage. Sit down and have some coffee Union your not going to nationals
Last year Union finished in 11th place. Currently they are in 6th.
Their goal differential last against Richmond was -8, this year they tied. 0-2
Last year their GD against VDA was -6, this year they tied. 0-3
Last year they GD against Loudoun was -2 going 0-2-1. This year they 1-0 in league play with +3 GD. 1-1 with +1 including WAGS.
It appears that they are certainly a much improved team, how improved? Only the second half of the season can answer.
Yes, VA Union definitely improved from last year, while Loudoun may have taken a step back, but it is too early to tell. We will know more about Loudoun after they play Richmond and Arlington in their next 2 games. Loudoun's league record in October is 5 losses, 1 draw 1 win so they are clearly in a slump. VA Union record in October 4 wins, 1 loss (CESA) and one draw (Richmond). Both teams could finish strong.
The thing with VU is they should get better as they play together more. They are pretty much a new team this year with over 1/2 new to the club’s system. Also the final games in tournaments can be misleading. It’s usually the 4th game(sometimes 5th game) over two days. The girls have dead legs and the games usually end up being a pretty ugly game of kick ball. I have seen teams that should beat another team lose because of mental and physical tiredness.
I’ve never heard so many parents of a mid table team talk so much on this board. We get it. Your team is better than it was last year because it picked up eight new players. Congratulations.

Who cares, I mean how is this data helping your kid? What does this data mean for your kid next season? Btw last season teams played locally only so your narrative is worthless.
