HYP is the only legitimate equivalent to UK’s Oxbridge.
Once you start adding a sports school like Stanford and a technology school like MIT, pretty soon you’ll have people from Tufts demanding it should be HYPSMT.
HYP and Oxbridge are the only world class WASPs.
This is so lame, who gives a flying eff about WASPs
WASPs are too cultured (incompetent) to engage in lowly (intelligent) matters like science and technology.

What a shame! You think you can continue stealing other's hard work like you did. You'll be further outcast in every major area and you'll soon be history.

Most of the nation has no idea what Hopkins, UChicago, Brown even are, let alone how insanely difficult it is to get into Duke, Dartmouth, Cornell.
I think you nailed it.
Elites:
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
MIT
Just missed the cut:
Columbia
UPenn
Caltech
Chicago
Duke
Northwestern
Dartmouth
Brown
Cornell
Hopkins
Berkeley
+1
US News dropped Stanford to #6 bc it’s a sports school that gives full scholarships. No “merit” scholarships at elite schools where they have the pick of the best students.
I think this is the best description
No, sports are more important than academics. Therefore giving full scholarships to athletes is an indication of being elite. After all, HYP originated from a football association.

They don't have the top 5 amount of research funding.
They don't have the top 5 number of Nobel Laureates.
You see, you can pick any kinds of factors into comparison and get different top 5's.
So? No one says they are top 5 on everything. Harvard and MIT are in the top 5 of Nobel Laureates. Stanford, Yale, and Princeton are not that far behind. They also produce outstanding research. All other top schools use binding decisions to lock students yet don't have as high the yield rate. There isn't much debate about HYPSM being top 5.
