Can someone report back from the McLean GA tryouts today / tonight? What coaches were there? (We don’t need to know kids, just coaches)

GA may not be ECNL, by RL is not GA. If MYS's plan is to build their GA program around RL players, they are headed to TSJ results.

Many of their FVU players, will return home.

If the coaching slate for FVU is going to be a bunch of Vienna and BRYC rec coaches then I agree many players will take a serious look at MYS GA.

Still, seems quite a backward leap for strong FVU ECNL players.
And confused why would it be rec coaches when there are ECNL coaches?

They have to fill in the coaching slate and the rumors of who’s filling in those slots is not good. Thus the equivalency of Rec coaching.

So you get to that equivalency based on rumors?! So valid!

Most of these rumors on dcum have turned out to be true. And since these clubs are setting up tryouts without a coaching slate it is kind of all parents have to go on until one of these clubs clears up the confusion with a coaching slate announcement.

I’m confused FVU said they’d have slates by the 28th and haven’t announced tryout dates. Seems like McLean who haven’t given any coach announcements time table and have try outs tonight are the problem.
Also does McLean even have a boys side anymore?

FVU sent families an email saying slate coming this week and tryouts will be this weekend.

2012 and 2011 are a tough call. They are only 1 year removed from playing for McLean and won’t really start the college recruiting process for 2 years.

How many McLean girls do you think are on those two FVU rosters? Me thinks 2013’s will be gone for the most part too. There isn’t a coach remaining at MYS that will convince them to stay at a new GA program.

2013s (G) going to FVU. To quote so many of you—confirmed. FVU retains coaches and brings in more coaches.

They do have a boys side but they are the sons of doctors and lawyers growing up in the rough neighborhoods of McLean.

you don't have to grow up in rough neighborhoods to play soccer or excel in it. Just research the background ok Kaka of Brazil

Wasn’t he the only coach that came from McLean on the boys side?

The FVU 08 Boys should have had a much more successful and happier season than the one they had. Instead, the "coach" drove their spirit and confidence into the ground by berating, denigrating, and belittling the players every time they made a mistake at training or in a game - for the entire season. He should've instead practiced patience and tried to actually teach them something or designed good training sessions to promote good habits and a clear game model - a model which was never clear.
