Another former DCU kid that's thriving outside of DCUA.
LOL
Tell that to people who don't know all the departure details
Also tell that to people who don't know that every Barcelona Residency school in the World contractually has to send a couple players for training to the Barca Academy in Spain. Because it costs $75K a year to attend the Residency school.
Tell that to people who don't know it's just a week or two with other Barca Residency school kids and Not a tryout for the Real Barca Academy, since they don't have European Union citizenship.
Can fool some people some time.
Can't fool all the people all the time.
Sport is about opportunities. The reality is that these kids got to play at La Masia and if you think that is nothing then you're just completely clueless. Right place at right time, you never know what could happen. This one opportunity is legitimately better than 4 straight years at DCU and more than DCU will ever give your son. Be happy for those kids that they got an opportunity. And be sad that DCU is giving your kid absolutely none.
How many kids from Barcelona Summer Camps get to go to La Masia?
Hundreds
How many kids from Barca Residency schools paying $78,000 get to go to La Masia?
Hundreds
How many of them are going as prospects to tryout or enter the real Barcelona Youth Academy?
NONE! ZERO!
You think Barca camps are the same as the residency? You're crazy. You think every kid at Barca academy pays? You're crazy. How many trips to Spain to play at the best academy in the world is DCU taking? NONE. What opportunities is DCU giving your son. Playing at Segra. 😭😭😭
They are playing at Barcelona facilities.
They aren't in the program with Barcelona Academy kids.
They are with other kids from other residency academies from other states/countries.
So sad that you have to downplay a real opportunity for these kids to make yourself feel better about the crappy situation at DCU.
Only if they're lying it's downplaying.
Given the other person is obviously upselling, wouldn't it be a wash? 😄

But what about the players who stay? Nothing to worry about, I’m sure. Top talent getting sidelined? Marginalized? Destroyed? Nah, must be part of the ‘plan,’ right? And clearly, DCU leadership has it all figured out—they’ve done wonders with all that talent at their disposal. No homegrown signings this year? Totally normal. And of course, zero players from this ‘elite’ program making the national team? Must be all part of some genius strategy that just hasn’t revealed itself yet. Nothing to see here, folks!
Says you that these players are flourishing elsewhere.
But we hope that's the case, because the majority of us aren't about bashing Kids and heaping negativity on them.
Otherwise, why do you need dcua to live and breathe?
You have no kids there, so what's the unhealthy, ridiculous obsession?
I would understand if you were a paying fan and upset with the senior team, but the trolling of the academy makes you a mental case.
First off, I would never bash kids. They’re talented – that’s not the issue. And players that leave are flourishing. Facts are facts. The real problem lies in the leadership around them, which is often unqualified and clueless. The point is that kids in this area would have a better shot at success “if” they could get out of this environment. So, what exactly are you defending? Where’s the lie in what’s being said? Call it out if you can.
This academy has become toxic, fueled by jealousy and envy. Instead of nurturing players, it’s actively hindering their futures because of insecurities (they can't and never will be RB or Union). That's the wrong approach. It’s a soap opera with secret meetings of parents going to upper management trying to overthrow the academy leadership, threats, and a culture that does everything but put the kids first. There’s no healthy development here – just drama. This area deserves better for the talent it holds.
No Trolling here.

That kid was a top player at DCUA that used to play up. Hmm, I wonder why he would have left DCU and went to Barca Academy for 75k a year?
Because playing up caught up to him and his performance against older players fell off and his handlers lived in an alternate universe and didn't want to face reality.
So they chose elsewhere.
Right, because he wasn't performing in the upper age group, he left instead of playing in his age group. Makes sense.
Who said the move made sense?
His handlers are the geniuses. If he was performing against upper age groups and wanted to leave DC, then Philly or Red Bulls would be easy choices.
Not an extravagant pay-to-play in Arizona desert.
