Better than Shapiro.
I think she should have gone moderate/ conservative.
Appeal to both aspects of the party, independents and conservative never Trumpers.
3 months from now we'll know.
Nah, that's loser talk. She's already fairly moderate. If she wants to energize her base and increase turnout, this was the smart pick.
I am outside of the DC , though not a swing state the population is very similar to those in swing states.
No she's not moderate by measures outside of the Democratic party or rather a faction of the Democratic party.
If you were alive in the 70s, you know that most current Democratic politicians are more conservative than their predecessors. A lot of them are more conservative than 20th century Republicans.
People urging Democrats to appeal to "moderates" or say that they themselves are "moderates" are really pretty conservative.
+1
Nixon would be labeled a liberal today.
On the other hand, I’ve often read that President Kennedy would be a conservative today and that the Democratic Party is way more liberal today than in the 60s. Everything is relative in terms of the issues people are facing in their own times.
Actually, Nixon and Reagan are progressives by today's standards.
Nixon was no conservative, that isn't a revelation. That was understood even during his term.
Reagan however is no progressive by the standards of any time.

He doesn't look older to me, but I guess I don't really care about that. He appears normal. Beautifully normal.
He reminds me of Steve Martin.

The D party is far more left today than it was in the mid century. Even just recently, remember the blue dog coalition? The modern D party is very close to the dem socialist parties of Europe, which are thoroughly on the left.
