What’s most noteworthy to me in this video is the coolness between William and Kate. There does not appear to be any love between them.

Oh wow. I watched it specifically because I thought I'd disagree with your comment, but affection doesn't seem to be the order of the day! Especially contrasted with Harry and Meghan. But in fairness, it probably is a stressful time. They have a lot going on!

I think H and M can “get away” with holding hands since they are not senior royals anymore. From what I’ve read W and K are way, way more constrained by what is “expected” from them.

This is nonsense. Camilla and Charles have more obvious affection between them and he’s the highest ranked of the three.

Nothing wrong with neediness. We are all human after all.

Did the royal family force anyone to bring flowers?

Can you drop a note to Liz Truss to bring that up with Parliament along with dropping the poppies on Remembrance Day.

She was also not at the Diana statue unveiling. Maybe pass that because it’s public but why wouldn’t you be with your husband with his grandmother dying? Sophie and Camilla were there.

Because the Queen was already dead and they had just dropped the children off for the first day of school. She needed to be there to pick them up and be with them for all of the stuff that is about to follow. With the exception of William and Harry - who were/were now about to be the children of a King — no other grandchildren or great-grandchildren were there. It’s not nefarious - this is part of a very-long planned out national event which it sounds like moved very quickly and didn’t have as much notice as people had presumed would happen.

Sophie and Edward also have minor children. If they were already dropped off that makes even less sense as seems super easy to have Nanny Maria pick them up. It’s not like his grandmother dies every day seems kind of unhealthy to decline to be supportive for even one day for a school run. Either she didn’t care to go or he didn’t want her there.

Prince Edward is her actual child. William is her grandchild. His kids are her great grandchildren. So big difference.

I heard on the news that her children had gathered near at the end. Not the entire family.

It does not seem odd for a granddaughter-in-law to not show up at the bedside. What is a little odd is for the second son of the future king to not be able to travel to Scotland on the same military jet his brother took. Does it have to do with Harry not being able to use public resources? They couldn't stop being paranoid about whether he would share details about the experience or what people would say in his memoir? Harry should have been treated as an equal to William by his father in this particular private situation.

He was treated as an equal. maybe he didn’t want to go on the jet, or maybe he had a bad stomach or maybe he and Meghan were unsure of what to do and hesitated before the plane took off. Not sure why you jump to the conclusion that poor Harry was maligned when you literally have no idea.

Dp, but it does seem odd that it was announced to the press that Harry and merchants were in route, and then Harry showed up many hours later, alone, after the announcement was made.

Thanks for posting the article, PP

No way Kate made the decision whether or not to be there. She would certainly have done whatever was asked of her.

Seems like they had Kate stay back as a reason for why they could say Meghan shouldn't attend. It would seem equal. But clear why they wouldn't want her there after everything.

Kate's children were close to queen and are old enough to feel the loss of death. They just moved to Windsor and had their first day of school. How could she leave them at such confusing and sad time?

So? Did you go to the bedside of your grandparents as they died when you were a small child? That would be very unusual.

No but also wasn't left alone with nannies on first day of a new school with the news of great granny dying.

I think we are on the same page.

His beloved grandmother died, and William is second in line to throne and you are worried that he is not snogging his wife? Harry and Meghan are acting as the declasse Americans she always was and he has become.

No you really can not say that. The queen was a very old women. I do not think she had a lot of interact with the great grand kids. It is not the way she was raised. That was the Annie’s and governesses job. Sure she would have some phots taken and a nice puff article written but she was not playing with them.

Even if they weren't emotionally close, they had interactions and are old enough to be shaken by news of death on first day of their school. It doesn't matter what others expect, a loving mother would want to be there.

That was my thought too when I read the comment but did you watch the video? PP is actually onto something.

No. When they came, she was clearly in charge and asking security guy questions while others listened like assistants.
Really? Their grandmother was 96a be in poor health for a few years now. They are 40 year olds with their own families. Charles at 73. The queen was not close to them. She was the queen. Life goes on.

I have just never seen Kate and William walk so far apart from each other when arriving together to a function. She looked like she was an assistant and William, Harry, and Meghan were family. It was weird.

I think that was a while ago (or it started a while ago), during covid, and she has since played the part of loving spouse. I imagine this has more to do with Meghan than the [alleged] affair.

Kates children are closer to her parents than Charles. How many under 10 year olds do you know who are close to someone over 90 years of age?
