An account can be hacked. IP addresses are dynamic.

With any digital evidence, there's almost always the possibility that a message or post was sent/made by someone other than the defendant. The Discord posts are just one piece of the bigger evidentiary picture.

The question isn't whether there's a possibility that someone else sent the messages. The question the jury will have to answer is whether, in light of all of the evidence, including the Discord messages (giving them whatever weight they feel appropriate in light of the possibility you're highlighting), there is reasonable doubt that Robinson murdered Kirk.

Charlie Kirk killing: Suspect had 'obsession' with the conservative influencer, FBI says

FBI Director Kash Patel also announced on "Fox & Friends" that DNA found at the crime scene, specifically the towel wrapped around the firearm used in the shooting, and on a screwdriver, links Robinson to the killing of the conservative influencer.

In a separate Fox News appearance, Patel said that Robinson "admitted" to assassinating Kirk.

"We've collected information through witness interviews, from the FBI and local law enforcement, that he essentially admitted after the shooting, an assassination of Charlie Kirk, the suspect admitted to it," Patel said on "Hannity" Monday night.

Patel said the FBI found "a text message exchange, where he, the suspect's specifically stated he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he would do that. When asked why, he said some hatred cannot be negotiated with.”

Patel told Hannity seized multiple devices from the suspect’s home and his " romantic partner.”

Law enforcement officials have also discovered evidence that Robinson was tracking Kirk's events and public appearances through public information on the internet, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told ABC News.

Officials also told ABC News they have gathered evidence showing Robinson had gained a familiarity with the Utah Valley University campus, including looking at maps of the campus in the days before the attack.
