This is a brutal illness that has many different manifestations, from asymptomatic, to mild, to severe to fatal.
So, we insist that the entire population remain at home because some people have longer term effects from this virus?

Mortality rate less than 2%. We have ramped up our medical preparedness, and there are empty beds and unused ventilators even in "hotspots". Drug overdoses, suicide, influenza, heart disease, cancer kill more people annually. Crazy anti-vaxxers will never immunize. We need herd immunity to squelch the virus, not hiding in our homes.
The WHO is in China's pocket, the director is corrupt. If they are squealing about funding, let China fund them. China pays about 10% of what we pay the WHO, and they can afford more.
Since you had to make it about Trump, I'll flip the script. This plan to control everyone's movements, make people dependent on government payouts, and destroy civil liberties is a leftist wet dream. Don't pretend you're not enjoying this.
Well said.

Odds are 99+% with me that I’m NOT going to die from the virus.
Odds are 100% against me if I miss another mortgage payment, certainly two. I’ll lose my house.
So yes, I’m willing to risk dying. I’m basically out of money.
I got $332 in stimulus (not a custodial parent). WTF is $332 going to do? My HOA fees are more than that each month!!!
I’m sorry. This is why the poors will suffer more than the well off. When financial advisers were saying you should have six months of expenses saved what were you doing? Domino’s and Amazon are hiring in the meantime.
+1, you have to try to find a job at all the places hiring before welfare is allowed. You must fill out applications each day. Where is your savings cushion? I bet you have a fancy phone and pay for luxuries like internet don't you?

I would look beyond the mortality rate
The recovery takes a few weeks, if you are hospitalized it takes even longer, could be months. You could have issues with your heart and other organs.
I have been following and watching the numbers closely.
