Alexandria, LMVSC and Gunston are all merging to form a super club to go against SYC. SYC has a plan to merge with BRYC and South County to form a even bigger club named Springfield Elite but shhhhhh no one tell a soul this is BIG NEWS!

Interesting. Hard to imagine how they will integrate right before the coming season. I imagine they will keep current teams separate for coming year and then have single slate of teams in 2020-21. (Alternatively, they could simply keep both sets of teams for current players and then phase in a single slate of teams for U9s, etc.) Although I imagine anybody dropping off top teams or concerned about the disruptiveness will march right over to Alexandria, BRYC, etc, especially since there will be a perception that one club's coaches are likely to have more control over player selection than others. Let's see if and ow it happens and that it works out best for the kids, regardless of what we think about the coaches or clubs.

The combined club will form the first co-ed pro team in the United States, which will compete in the USL next year (projected, nothing certain). Este Maldonado and Lula Bauer will be co-managers.
