Absolutely incorrect. The whole Buck idea was originally thought of and advocated for those who live near the school. They were advocating to expand the school onto Buck last year during the Options and Transfer process, before the Rosslyn folks even understood what was going on. Really trying to understand the reasoning here, because it seems like one poster has a grudge against that neighborhood since this is the third post mentioning it by name. There’s one person who lives in the homes next to Market Commons who’s a strong advocate, so I’m curious if this is just a grudge against her and her neighbors or if it’s based on logic.

Pretty sure they won’t move anything into Taylor b/c all of NW and NE maybe shuffled, so Taylor’s has space now, but if Jamestown or Nottingham goes option who knows. It’s just ties their hand for the big moves.

They can't do anything at ASFS now if there's a remote possibility that Key becomes a neighborhood school. Most of the Market Commons area is in the Key "walk zone," and would be appropriately zoned there, but could not be if they were moved to LB now. LB is only losing a few PUs to Fleet, and it may be more appropriate to extend their boundary W rather than N should Key become a neighborhood school and should there be space to fill at LB.

Cool your jets. ASFS is being returned to Cherrydale, just not this year.

Lastly, the "if your in, you're in" comment from the Super does not apply when there is a boundary change. The comment was made in another context and should not be misconstrued. When ASFS gets a boundary, those no longer in the boudary will have to leave.

If I may, I would respectfully submit that this discussion has gotten totally batshit all around. There is nothing of meaning for us to debate right now and yet we are wasting so many hours doing it. We don't know what the staff will come back with next month, let alone what the school board will do with that, but nothing that's we say here right now is going to make a whit of difference to it. Once there are new developments, sure, let's have a debate about them, but this, right now, is crazy making.

It's summer. This is the time all of the school stuff is supposed to get a little pause so we can enjoy the rest of our lives. So let's go do that. If you're at work, step out and get an iced coffee, text some friends to see if they're up for a cookout this weekend, or look into a cool family activity you haven't tried before. If you're home, go dig in your garden, read a book on your deck, or build some legos with your kids. I'm going to do the same. The next public step in this process is supposed to be a presentation from the staff at the August work session, which isn't even on the calendar yet, so we have at least a few weeks to do everything but debate this stuff, and we won't miss anything. I'm cool with the two phase approach. 2019 the Market Common neighborhood and the tip of Rosslyn and Rosslyn south of 50 move. 2021 the rest of the boundaries at the school are changed.

Is there a reason you are calling out those two neighborhoods as opposed to the parts of Courthouse that are not going to Stratford or the area north of lee highway that is surrounded by Taylor units?

The planning unit in Clarendon you are targeting is the one in the key zone that is closest to asfs, so it seems like a poor choice.

NP. Well the Courthouse PUs are CRAZY close to Key, so SB may not move them now in case Key becomes neighborhood school.

Moving any units to Taylor now means they can’t be move to either ASFS or Key for 2021 if end up with two neighborhood schools.

These southern PUs PP is calling out are adjacent to LB PUs, and depending on how Fleet shakes out LB may have some capacity. ASFS can be filled with Cherrydale, Lyon Village and some of the tail of Ashlawn, it’s not a crazy idea IF LB has space. It does hurt alignment b/c I think those PUs were just moved from Jefferson to Stratford to keep them with ASFS cohort, sonit might make sense to move back to Jefferson it becomes LB.

Absolutely incorrect. The whole Buck idea was originally thought of and advocated for those who live near the school. They were advocating to expand the school onto Buck last year during the Options and Transfer process, before the Rosslyn folks even understood what was going on. The fact is the Rosslyn/Courthosue crew is an angry and vindictive group who have said and done some really nasty things to several really good people. These same people who were ironically advocating for them. So sad.

I'm cool with the two phase approach. 2019 the Market Common neighborhood and the tip of Rosslyn and Rosslyn south of 50 move. 2021 the rest of the boundaries at the school are changed.

Is there a reason you are calling out those two neighborhoods as opposed to the parts of Courthouse that are not going to Stratford or the area north of lee highway that is surrounded by Taylor units?
There’s someone who seems very troll like who keeps mentioning the Market Commons and I’m trying to figure out if it’s an actual troll or a person with a grudge, or if it’s based on some logical thought.
The planning unit in Clarendon you are targeting is the one in the key zone that is closest to asfs, so it seems like a poor choice.
