Sincere question here. I am also Southern and I do not have the same attachment to the stars and bars. What does the flag signify to you and why is it important for you to fly it. Not a setup. Just interested.

I would say they can if they want to. But should seems to imply that you want that forced on them as a consequence of flying the Confederate flag.
A conservative would want choice.
A liberal seems to want force.
No surprise there.
False - Conservatives don't want "choice" - they want to be able to enjoy their choices while denying others any choice.
Funny, I see that in liberals. Re-read this thread. It's not conservatives demanding flags, statues, etc be taken down and road names be changed.
Good point.
Funny, you fail to see the distinction between private citizens waving the confederate flag and the government doing it on behalf of its citizenry.

Sure it's OK, but it does define you as a pig.
Then that means waving the Confederate flag can define someone. As a racist, or a pig, or a racist pig...
If that's your interpretation, then sure. The key point here is you have the gift of free-thought and live in a country where you can express it. When someone physically goes after another for free thought and legal expression of that thought, they are no better.
