What we do not know and amounts to rumor or assumption:
1. If either student was wearing an ankle bracelet
2. If either student ever had a COSA or otherwise attended a school outside of the cluster of residence (could be wrong on this one, happy to see a source)
3. If either student ever had contact with the juvenile justice system
Is that right?
Yes, but can you make it more inflammatory?
I was genuinely trying to be neutral and fact-based. Why do you see it as inflammatory?
My goal is to cut through rumors and/or verify some of the assertions if they are backed by sources.

He was expelled from Paint Branch and MCPS sent him to Blake.
This is one of the biggest issues. If a child is expelled from one MCPS school they should not just get to go to another MCPS school.
This happens at the MS level too.
Getting expelled is not easy. You only get expelled for very serious offences. Bringing a gun to school will get you expelled assuming you get caught. Shooting or stabbing someone will also get you expelled. Being a drug dealer might possibly also get you expelled. Not much else really
Yeah, it's hard to believe he was expelled if he has a clean criminal record....but people seem determined to paint a narrative here.
Read what happened in Court. This is his first criminal offense.
Criminal is an adult term. He's not an adult. If he's had contact with with juvenile justice system, it would be called a delinquent act. The two systems are kept very separate, the juvenile justice system is kept very confidential, so someone could offend many times as a juvenile and still have a clean "criminal" record.

Does anybody have a source for the expulsion? I mean, anonymous people admit here, but I haven’t seen any authoritative or news source on that…
Same with the ankle monitor, right?
I don’t know anything about the ankle monitor..
I do know about the expulsion though, that part is accurate.
He is a juvenile, there can be police reports on him but if no actual charges were filed he wouldn’t have a record that you can see.
With all due respect, another anonymous poster saying they "know about" something is not a source.
Do we have any evidence, other than anonymous people making assertions on a message board, that this student was expelled from a school or wore an ankle monitor. And if he wore an ankle monitor, for what purpose?

What offense could he have committed in school that would be grounds for expulsion but not result in an actual charge?
It's not an expulsion. It's an administrative transfer. The grounds for that are broad.

What an unbelievably stupid post. Maybe try one iota of fact-checking before ranting and raving nonsense about why MCPS didn't arbitrarily place teenagers in a special ed school for elementary kids. Just beyond uninformed. If this is the kind of hysterical nonsense that parents send to the schools, no wonder they don't listen.
+1000. And they listed Title 1 like it's an independent school![]()
I'm trying to get criminals out of the schools and lock them up so they don't shoot other kids.
What are you doing?
Better take a real hard look in the mirror sunshine.
Then get your facts straight honey. The student that got shot was the "criminal" with the ankle monitor, not the shooter.
Get your facts straight honey. BOTH were criminals.
The shooter recently transferred into Wootton from Blake HS in Silver Spring. Charged with attempted second‑degree murder, two counts of first‑degree assault, two counts of second‑degree assault, and (multiple) firearms‑related charges such as possession of a dangerous weapon on school property. Potentially faces 30+ years of charges and will remain in custody at an adult (not juvenile) detention facility without bond.
The shooter claimed in court that he wasn't the aggressor. The kid shot is the same kid who told his "mental health professional" last year he was bullied at Wootton, making all the fuss that got the Principal replaced. His mom wanted to transfer him out but claims she was blocked. There is also a claim that the kid shot was wearing an ankle monitor.
But in court yesterday it was stated the shooter had no priors - so he was not a criminal prior to Monday. You have no evidence that he should have been placed anywhere else other than the public school where he lives, which is where he was. While I get wishing there was a way this could have been avoided, it would be a horrible policy for MCPS to just start sending kids to alternate placements because they transferred mid year - and I know no one is really honestly saying they should, but thats how many of these posts read when you say that young man should have been in an alternate school! We simply don't know enough yet to make that statement.
Now, if the victim's mom pursues legal action, that may lead to an investigation on the shooters school records and then it'd be known if the shooter had a history in MCPS of causing trouble. The shooter could not have been connected to the bullying last year though since he was not at Wootton then.
The shooters sister was a missing child in 2022. Around age 16 and police were looking for her as a runaway or possibly endangered.
Mommy has quite a history as well.
Like you said we don't know enough. What we do know is a gun shot by a human hurt another human at a school filled with kids. That is what we should all be addressing the guns, mental health, and school procedures in these matters.
If it comes out that the shooter was being bullied and the school system did nothing will that process ever be addressed, so it would be less likely to end in a child being shot. Nope.
However the shooters family unfortunately lost their right to privacy when he took that gun and shot someone inside a school and when mommy & sister tried to help him escape.
