SNL.

WTAF! The shooter isn't cooperating and he hasn't had a trial. His friends say he's apolitical. We have no idea yet if his politics played into AT ALL. If Jimmy K is fired, Trump should be too. They both lied.

We need a credible citation for your statement that his friends say he was a political. You’ve made this claim before and have not given any evidence.

And you should give a credible citation that he isn't. Or that there is proof that he is a "leftist."

I wonder how you’ll feel once you’re the one on the receiving end. Once those who share your thoughts and opinions start saying this government is taking it too far only to get steamrolled.
Given the actions of you democrats for the past two decades, will I notice a difference?

Conservatives, despite being a joke themselves, are incapable of humor. It’s a part of their brain that simply does not exist.

I initially assumed that Kimmel had made a derogatory remark about Charlie Kirk but when I watched the clip - - what he said and what was shown was not bad at all.
I am shocked that something like this can cause a TV host to lose his entire TV show forever.
Sure there will be people who will not agree w/what Kimmel said on his show (especially since it is related to politics!) but Jimmy had a right to say it.
It is his constitutional right to say what he wants as long as he refrains from slander or libel which he in fact did.
I say all of this objectively.
What confuses me is that the FCC is stating that Kimmel lost his show due to what he said during Monday night’s program.
Yet Donald Trump has stated that was NOT the reason his show was cancelled at all.
He has stated that Kimmel’s show was cancelled due to Jimmy having zero talent.
So I am hereby confused because now it appears there is zero consistency between the President and the FCC.

Good. He has every right to say and do what he wants, and his boss has every right to send him packing.
If that was all that happened, it might be ok, but even then he had a contract detailing what he could and could not say. He kept to the contract. So firing him goes against that contract, even if it were just about ABC.
It’s not though. The FCC Chairwent on a conservative podcast and threatened ABC’s license. He said ‘we can do this the easy or hard way”. Disney internal discussions show they didn’t think Kimmel was offensive. Kimmel himself wanted to say his words were being deliberately twisted. Instead, Bob Iger decided to suspend the show. Michael Eisner, his predecessor, has ripped him apart for the cowardice.
Suppression of free speech is what fascist regimes do and corporations are often enabling it. So no, your reductionist explanation is sorely lacking.

This armchair CEO garbage isn't going to cover up the fact that a federal government employee publicly threatened to take major punitive action against a private company in order to censor the speech of their employee. Conservatives used to find this scenario appalling and completely against the Constitution.
But Kimmel spread a hurtful lie that he easily could have fact checked, had he stepped out of his bubble. He wasn’t even telling a joke, he was making a political speech.
It wasn’t a lie - the MAGA crowd had been trying desperately to make people believe that the murderer was part of some leftist group starting when Kirk’s body was still warm. That was their number one priority.
Also, this should go without saying but comedians are allowed to make political speeches just like they are allowed to tell jokes in America.

He is a leftist, though. People weren't wrong.
+1. And your employers don't have to keep you.
That is true.
However there are rules/laws in place that do protect people from being unjustly terminated.
And these laws exist to protect people from unfair practices, etc.
These laws exist so that people can enjoy the rights (vs. privileges) that are due them.
