Check the partisan composition of those polled.

I saw this at the beginning before the speech so not sure if it’s a different occurrence. I was mortified by his behavior.

Our government has became so embarrassing for the last ten years. Go back and watch any debate or state of the union pre-2016, it’s night and day.

true, but the fault lies not with Trump, but with the political left who wants to steamroll their way to power, and has brainwashed themselves that the man courageous enough to stand up to them is terrible.

Seeing as how he has a peach-cleaner in the master bedroom of the house he's selling, are we entirely sure he's not?

What is the matrix they are measuring? If you asked me if I thought it was a good speech then I would have to say yes, he nailed it. If you ask me if I think it was a truthful, meaningful speech or if I agreed with the message than no I do not. I am routinely offended by his slogan about making America great again or bringing back the golden age. There is no point of reference for that and I actually think America was doing an excellent job. Can we improve sure, but I think we are doing great. When I think of the past I think it’s terrible. I was the first female attorney ever hired by my boutique law firm, that was 20 years ago, I had horrendous experiences in court and as a practicing attorney I simply because I was a young woman, the idea was outlandish. My law school classmates used to ask me to hail cabs for them because otherwise they wouldn’t be able to get one. This isn’t that long ago, it wasn’t a golden era at all. Trump wants us back in the 80’s when you could commit crimes white collar crimes with abandon and assault women without fear of consequence (assuming you are rich and white) and most important people “knew their place” F that.

Yes we know. What has to stop is the focus on reaffirming what we know to be true to ourselves and other like minded folks. We need to start putting ourselves in the shoes of his supporters, what speaks to them, how to speak to them and approaching our issues that way. No one is ever going to say they are against government waste, excellent platform, the reality doesn’t seem to matter. Biden was killing it his last term on almost all fronts, but all he ever spoke about was things most Americans couldn’t relate too, and the Dems allowed the right to dictate the platforms. I’ll never forget the immigrant gas station workers I was speaking to who told me they were voting for Trump. They said they felt he didn’t think they were helpless government moochers and they didn’t want to hear anymore about a few people who didn’t know if they were a man or a woman, they didn’t care what these people were, they just didn’t want to hear about it anymore. this was their take away from what he was saying. It was profound. These are the folks the Dems need to be able to reach. I don’t understand what they don’t understand about that.

And how do you propose democrats teach people who don’t want to be reached?

We simply need to teach everybody that trans-rights are human rights and a trans woman is a woman. Full stop. So she has every right to play on the girls sports team like any other girl.

We need to teach everybody that Jesus is Lord. Full stop. So, accept communion and obey the bible like any other Christian.

You think you did something. You probably think you ATE with that comment. But in reality, you proved how pathetic you are as a Christian because a real Christian accepts all people and has love for everyone.

I am able to not agree with a LGBT lifestyle and still recognize them as humans who deserve rights, love, and respect. That's what makes me a good Christian in the eyes of Him. If I had a gay or trans child, I would not agree with their lifestyle choices but I would still love them. I am not going to attend a pride event with them or fly a flag, but I'm also not going to have active hate for them or think they are less deserving of marriage and insurance and job security than those who are straight.

Christians and "Christians" need to realize they are never going to eliminate gay or trans people. Adding all these rules doesn't eliminate them. So a trans woman can't run college track on the women's team. It doesn't erase her as a person. So a trans man with huge muscles and a full beard has to use the women's restroom because of new laws. That doesn't erase him, either.

And you think you "ate" with this mess, while still falling far short...

Jesus wouldn't behave in passive-aggressively condescending ways, turning his back to the gay/trans/whoever. Jesus would have been at Pride. Jesus IS at pride. Jesus would have shown up for people, fully, as they are.

You did better than the pp by showing a lack of willingness to deny state-sanctioned rights/rites to gays, but... low bar, friend. Jesus called us to live as He did, and this ain't it. Keep going.

Anyone else find it hugely ironic that he had the gall to claim he was "bringing free speech back" right after booting Al Green and right after threatening "illegal protests" which is an exercise of free speech?

Complete cognitive dissonance.

Oh that’s right, if they fixed the laws then they won’t have anything to complain about when the democrats are in office.

The GOP controls congress and they have done nothing. They sit back and let Leon run the country.

Exactly. Now is the time to implement common sense visa and immigration reforms to bring in labor while solving the issues with asylum and everything else but instead what do we get? Tax cuts for the rich, ban paper straws, wokeness, EVs, and the Gulf of America and other crap that doesn't really fix anything or help the everyday American.

Shut there border and no amnesty.

Only law to pass is mandate e-verify which democrats refuse.

Check your facts.

Democrats are fine with eVerify if documentation can be accessible.
It is mostly GOP businesses that want the cheap labor that oppose it.

So the opposition is bi-partisan as is the support. But to suggest it is only democrats who oppose it is false.
