Two consenting adults hooking up on a road trip in a hotel room. DCUM relationship sub forum is full of stories like this. Road warrior white collars cheating on the road is not exactly an uncommon thing. The only thing that makes this weird is the trollop’s husband happened to be in the same hotel with their kiddos.

She thought up this scheme a few days later.
It sounds like she was hounding a celebrity for attention and she got it. Then she took money from him three years later after she threatened to go to his employer with these fabrications.
Has it occurred to anyone that an employee of the hotel/bar has nothing to gain, and probably something to lose, by saying something negative about a guest? Particularly about being overserved and the potential liability of doing so.

There is a lot of misinformation on this thread. For example, is nothing in the police report about it being part of her job to get him to his room.
I find a lot about the allegation to not be credible but the thing that sticks out the most is that witnesses say she was fine the next day. She says she thinks she may have been drugged. Anyone who has actually been roofied knows that you feel like a train rolled over you the next day.
That's not true. I was roofied and other than feeling a little tired I was fine the next day.
Anyone can claim they were roofied. There was no factual evidence that she was in this case.
DP
This is absurd. If she wanted to have a convention fling or one-night stand, she is not taking her husband and kid on the trip with her. The woman's drink was spiked.

+1 Jonathan Chait with The Atlantic has read all of his books (three in the last few years) and there’s tons of disqualifying stuff in there. That public education is a communist plot, that vaccines are poison, and that socialists were responsible for the Holocaust, among others.
"The main question I was looking to answer when I started reading Hegseth’s collected works was whether he would follow a Trump command to shoot peaceful protesters. After having read them, I don’t think he would even wait for the order."
Hegseth “considers himself to be at war with basically everybody to Trump’s left, and it is by no means clear that he means war metaphorically.”
He calls for the “categorical defeat of the Left” and says that without its “utter annihilation,” “America cannot, and will not, survive.”

And again, these views and his disgusting behavior in his personal life are second and third to the fact that he’s never run an organization with more than a couple dozen people and to put him in charge of the largest bureaucracy in the world is insane.
This. This is the material point. Even if he was the squeakiest clean choir boy in terms of his personal life, he's still not qualified to be the Secretary of Defense.
I realize the media enjoys the circus and the right wingers desperately want to distract from the fact that Hedgesth isn't qualified but I hope Senate Democrats don't take the bait and go after him on substance.
We can only hope the GOP will leak some stuff about him. Or, Thune gets a backbone and demands to vote on the appointees and strikes him and Gabbard down.
I'm the PP - I think at least one of the three wackjob nominees will make it through. Gaetz already withdrew, so either Hegseth or Gabbard is getting through. Maybe both. I don't see Republican Senators standing up to Trump publicly and refusing to confirm, but only three have to vote no. Who has nothing to lose? If they do I think it would be against Hegseth. I don't think Gabbard is astute enough to figure out how to exercise any levers of power as DNI and we've had bozos in that role before so it wouldn't be a new thing.
Which Republican Senators have long military experience. Those would be the ones to not vote for him. So there's Collings, Murkowski and two others. Who are the remaining two who will vote against this rapist.

None of that’s happening.
President Trump wants Hegseth head up DoD. So Hegseth will head up DoD. PERIOD.
He may be confirmed or Acting, but he’s going to be the Secretary. Nobody better try to cross the President, be it Thune or anyone else.
President Trump needs to release high-powered guns and ammo to his militias. To crack down on the enemies within you need to leverage overwhelming power. Hegseth will try to order the military to do this, but it would be easier to let the militias carry out the pogrom and just have the military and the LEOs look the other way.
