And Marvin Johnson, who coached with CC at FCV for 7 seasons, played for Luton for 15, and ran Luton’s youth academy for 5. And Jack Stefanowski, who is an extremely experienced goalkeeper coach who spent time at FCV, DC United Academy, Washington Spirit, and Loudoun United. VRSC unquestionably has the core coaching staff and training facilities necessary for a nationally competitive GA program. The only question is whether a large block of current FCV GA players will move there immediately so VRSC can field competitive teams beginning next season, or if CC and MJ will need to build the program from the ground up as they did at FCV, which will take several years.

Calling AB a rec coach seems a bit much. What has he done that you would classify him as such. He's been around the game playing and coaching for a while so he has experience and licensing.
You're right. It's an insult to rec coaches.
Curious as to why you think he is bad. I've seen on here that people think he is loud. What else?
I have no clue how he is as a coach but seeing that he's only ever coached or handled boys teams and primarily U-little, it's strange that leadership at FCV thought it's a good idea to hand him the reigns of their GA and let him be the TD. I don't even think he has any coaching certifications. Feels more likely that TSJ sees AB as a stop gap than a permanent solution.
He's certainly seems more qualified than the VRSC TD -- so, choose your poison, I guess. The SYC TD I'm not sure about. But IMO, this is another knock against the GA in this area, if you're the parent of a top player. Just sayin'![]()
To sum it up,
VRSC TD - grassroots license
FCV TD - ?? Nothing shows.
SYC TD - A License, probably much more significant resume than the other two.
Looking beyond VRSC's TD, their other leadership and coaches. Can't even find a SafeSport certification sometimes.

FCV had become a great club for serious U13-U19 girls who wanted to play in college and possibly beyond. TSJ killed it. Sad.

VRSC has Christian Cziommer as the GA director. He's more than qualified. Former FCV TD for 13 years and UEFA A license.

Bastian why aren’t you returning parent emails all weekend! Did you lose interest as well. Are you too now backing out of the position you agreed to?
Rudy backed out. Found out what was really going on (not what AB sold him), and said I'm out!
They also lost the coach in Norway who they had announced internally as the new goalkeeper coach. Old news but haven’t seen it mentioned here.
Dear FCV - Next year is going to be a problem and it seems clear that no coach or player is ready to trust you on that since the Fall season doesn't start for another 6 months and since there are so many short term concerns to deal with in the meantime. I think the solution is to hire coaches for the next 6 months. Good coaches are better and if they can stay on for next year than that's great, but give us a chaperone for the next six months at least so your current teams are assured of getting thru their regular Spring season and upcoming tournaments. If the next 6 months are assured you may get some interest in selling your vision for next year. That vision is impossible to sell if all your current players walk because you screwed them in the short term.
