Not to mention that he's more basic than all of them. Except maybe Theresa, and he's going to choose her, so it's perfect.

They represent a great cross section of vibrant, attractive older women.

What are you talking about?

He wants someone for real life not a rom com!

So agree. They are like my friends!

I do have trouble listening to the accent. Not that I like Gerry's either.

Yes I like her even more now.

Her face looks more natural than some of the others.

She hangs with family, likes going to baseball games, likes to cook, read, work out, go out on the water. Other than faith, seems like a very good match for Gerry. I think people are too hung up on her sexy dancer Prince days. Really she’s just an unusually athletic midwestern mom/grandmom and that’s been her identity for a long time now.

I like both ladies, and agree they’re both essentially suburban homebodies. Leslie is younger and more adventurous, but seems to share the same core values. I guess my only real question is about the differences in age and religion.

I guess I also wonder whether he’ll care about Leslie’s more colorful dating history vs. prefer a woman who’s only been with one man. I can’t actually tell how traditional he is.

To me, dating for 40 years without ever getting into a stable relationship is a red flag. But he may feel differently.

She was married twice.

Uh huh. It’s not clear these were good marriages for even a short period of time. Most of her conversations, and all her brother could talk about, is how she makes serial bad choices.

I don’t doubt that he would be good for her, even a white knight. But is she suddenly ready to settle down with a guy who’s 10 years older? The only reason she’s looking at him now is that he’s the bachelor. Also, will she be good for him?

Well first of all, the show comes up with a narrative for each contestant, and Leslie's is that she's had bad luck in love. I'm sure it's not the only thing she's talked to Gerry about, but it's what the producers are showing us.

Second, I'm younger than Leslie and have also made bad choices with men (though I've never married one of them), and I'd love to settle down with a man like Gerry, even if he's a bit too old for me. It seems a bit unfair to say that a woman who has had bad luck in love should never be able to settle down with a good man. (Women like me are generally coached to lie about our relationship history, the assumption being that a man will mistreat a woman who admits that she's' been mistreated. Gerry, however, seems to default to treating women well, even if they might not love themselves or have experienced love, which is why he's a mensch, and why all the women like him). She's probably wanted a man like Gerry for a long time but for whatever reason (poor self-esteem, the kind of guys she's been exposed to) has never had the opportunity to date one. As for whether or not she'd be good for him, that's up to him. I still think he's going to choose Theresa in the end, but I think Leslie is a good mix of basic and exciting.

Sorry, but there’s a difference between “bad luck” and 40 years of bad relationships. Your few youthful bad choices (and I had them too) aren’t really comparable either. At some point, a few decades in, it starts to look like a pattern.

Nobody ever said Leslie doesn’t deserve a good man. It’s just that you can’t blame Gerry if he looks at her and thinks she’s a hot mess.

Right. It is but that s good man thinks, “oh, I can mistreat her.”

Rather, he might think that a healthy person would not keep being attracted to abusive men/relationships.

Freshly fillered. It's a bit much imo. Great suit though.

I think her work is less bad than Joan's.

I thought she had a bad face lift but it would have settled a little by now, right? Her face is the least mobile of all. Could fillers and botox achieve that?

Marina before there were even any dates.
Joan was there for longer and had a one-on-one with Gerry that supposedly went well.

(Though I'm sure it's not totally irrelevant that Joan has the body and hair of Gwyneth Paltrow).

Because Marina didn't have a one-on-one date with a supposed connection (which I didn't really see).

Marina left early. Joan had a one on one date.
